The million penny question!

New stuff for Helix/nuking better than what we can get now?

Teal Chapeau
[Head] All Races
DEF: 22 HP +17 INT +6 MND +6 Enmity -2

Teal Saio
[Body] All Races
DEF: 48 HP +24 MP +24 INT +6 MND +6 CHR+6
Magic Accuracy +4
"Magic Atk. Bonus" +4

Teal Slops
[Legs] All Races
DEF: 32 HP +14 INT +5 CHR +5
Magic Accuracy +3
"Magic Atk. Bonus" +3

Would the loss of 7 INT from Mahatma Slops and Errant body be worth the gain of M.Acc+7 MAB+7? I on my own opinion would have to say yes. Any mage/math heads out there that can verify this?

Helix -> Head only, the body/legs are still beat by mahatma/errant

Nukes -> Moogle head is better, but this comes in a close 2nd. The body and legs are definitely the better pieces scholar has to nuke in when you don't need the +skill from your AF/AF2.

For nuking (Tier IVs), the break even point is around 2 ~ 2.5 INT for 1 MAB. For helices, the break even point is around 1 INT for ~2 MAB. It should be clear that Teal is better for nukes while Errant/Mahatma is better for Helices. So it would behoove you to have both.

Thank you for the replies. I guess I will be getting the Teal set and holding onto my M.Slops and Errant Body for helix. Just hope the prices go down with SE introducing the Teal set but who knows.

Assuming base stats(other gear/food) of:
INT+120 MAB+29(moldy, /RDM40)
Target Aura Statues 70 INT (only INT value I can think of at work)
Formula: [(yourINT-targetINT)+25]*Staff*Day/Weather*(yourMAB/targetMDB)*Damage Adjustment*Ebullience

Errant Body/Maht. Slops: [(138-70)+25]*1.15*1.1*1.29*1*1.2 = f182 (182.11)

Teal Body/Legs: [(131-70)+25]*1.15*1.1*1.36*1*1.2 = f177 (177.54)

Nice math and thanks!

I did see this body Augur's Jaseran and thought well that will do better than earrant/HQ body. Feet don't look bad either .

As of yet no. I haven't seen any of the big HNMLs people with any of it either. So maybe it is in Walk of Echos or Abyssea? Right now its just up in the air. But if i find out or is updated, I'll be sure to update you (if you don't already know).
