Hi all, I'm now a 59 SCH and I've been leveling a lot of Colibri since level 54 as a main healer. I tend to prefer those parties because, honestly, they're the best xp at their level and tend to sync and ride the Lesser Colibri camp till ~62, and then regular Colibri till 75 with some other camps mixed in. I almost always make my own parties, because I'm just too impatient to wait around with my flag up, but I can't help feeling that I'm just a subpar WHM or RDM when it comes to main healing.

Not the healing part, that's golden, but mainly the lack of Haste and/or Refresh makes me feel like I'm bringing the party, especially the tank, down. My general rule of thumb has always been to make sure a Ninja gets Hasted, and a Paladin gets Refreshed at least, but I can't do either of those myself. And the lack of Haste makes me feel like I could be doing more to speed up the kills.

So I was wondering what kind of setups any other SCHs have had luck with on these camps or similar ones. Are there any kind of setups you can think of that would play to SCH's strengths as a healer?

And one final question, post-56 when /WHM has Stoneskin but before /RDM does, is /WHM a better option for xp parties? It's what I've been using since Stoneskin on myself for resting with Sublimation up, and giving it to the melees is wonderful, but I miss being able to contribute damage from enspells on /RDM to speed kills up.

Thanks for your time guys, and sorry for the barrage of questions.

Sometimes I dual heal with a RDM or a WHM. In those cases, I /RDM for Enblizzard-ga. If I'm solo healing I /WHM for Stoneskin-ga.

The ideal setup for SCH is Level Sync to 51, have a 75 RDM puller (PLD/RDM works too) pop chigoes off of a sheep in Caedarva Mire, and have the sync party consist of: BLM BLM SCH(you) COR [Sync Target]. Even better if the sync target is one of the previous 4, since you can fit another nuker/refresher in the party. You'll rake in the XP, but it requires a dual-box or a benevolent friend to PL you (who is RDM75 with a Joyeuse or Kraken Club).

But since I doubt you were looking for the "do a Chigoe Burn, duh!" answer: here's what I'd consider an ideal XP party for SCH on Colibri: SCH/WHM BRD/NIN* COR/RNG DRG/SAM DRG/SAM DRG/SAM. However, you'll have to deal with the inevitable "Why don't we kick the SCH and get a RDM?". With Stoneskin up, your DRGs should be able to fulltime Hasso, and you can use spot Regens + Cures to keep up their HP between Stoneskin-ga every 1 minute 20 seconds. Also on the plus side is Stoneskin will allow you to rest with Sublimation on, which is actually pretty huge for MP management.

*Can be replaced with a RDM/NIN puller. But then you'll really have to convince your party not to kick you and swap the RDM to /WHM.

You should strive to always PT with at least a single BRD and/or COR. That's pretty much a given. When not available, obviously, either make due, or hold out. A BRD or COR will cover the refresh issue for the tank *unless he's garbage like the couple I've encountered recently on my server*.

Outside of that, Haste isn't a necessity. There are multiple accounts *my own included* of capping EXP/hr as SCH in the colibri meripo camp. By capping EXP, I mean we were killing to the point that literally, any faster kills would have meant broken chains due to repops. EXPing w/o haste means you need to be a bit pickier on the DDs you grab. If you get invited into a PT w/ incompetent DDs, that's beyond your control. If you make a PT with incompetent DDs, however, that's your learning curve. I quickly began to take note of players with whom I would further refuse to PT in a situation where haste was not available.

Vs colibri, my personal favorite setup involving SCH is this: COR BRD BRD/SAM/DRG SAM/DRG SAM/DRG SCH. Obviously, this is a "best case scenario", but the difference you'll see with that setup compared to any others is extremely drastic.

Cor brd RDM is toing to beat cor brd brd, even w/ a sch healing. W/ dual marches from the first brd, and fulltiming hasso (if they couldn't do it before, now they can w/ 2 healers), and even a decent haste build will gain about 44% increase in damage from the addition of haste. 2nd brd isn't going to bea ble to do that w/ double minuet and madrigal shouldn't be needed to begin with, ect.

That's true, I just personally never think of a SCH and a RDM together. This is a moot point, however, in the situation where adding haste would be detrimental toward keeping the EXP chain.

Full-time Hasso is rarely a problem, though for a SCH healer.

When i was expin sch i was making some of my own partys and always inviting a pld to tank so refesh was important so i would always try to invite a brd who could also help me with sublimation up.

However if a brd is not available which is most of the time a cor is next best and if a cor or brd isnt available a rdm will work but exp/hr will be lowered abit but they can always backup heal if you run low on mp but i always found that i would only need to rest for mp after buffs.

I would /whm until you get stoneskin on rdm then /rdm till 75 and after
