Hey

I've looked around for an answer to this and can't find it anywhere, help would be much appreciated.

Q.
When using accesion with phalanx or stoneskin, how is the damage absorbtion calculated? Is it in the same way as a non-accession phalanx or stoneskin, ie. based solely on the casters enhancing skill (and MND for SS)? If so, can I therefore with the correct gear cast a full strength phalanx and stoneskin on a DD with 0 enhancing skill and low MND?

You've got it right. It's based off of your enhancing skill. When the job 1st came out those used to be based off of the recipients skills but the big buff the following spring changed it to being based off of our own.

Note that equipment that directly modifies your Accession spell effects as opposed to boosting your skill (Hollow Earring, Lycopodium Earring, Stone Gorget, Stone Mufflers) will only take effect on the people wearing them. That is to say that if you're the only one in your group wearing Stone Gorget and Stone Mufflers when you Accession + Stoneskin, your Stoneskin will cap at 410, but everyone else's will still cap at 350.

You may already have known that, but just thought I'd post it in case.
