Face it; FFXI may not be dying, but it's a very old game at this point. The playerbase's knowledge of the game, while far from complete, is quite extensive. As a result, the forums will naturally move away from discovery threads to things like:
"I finished my AF quests today! Yay!"
"What's your favourite job in xxx event and why?"
"Goodbye FFXI!"
and...
"Hi, I'm new this game/job/fight/random situation, I have a well-worded and humble request for information/opinions from the more experienced players on the forums. Appreciate any replies, thanks!"
As an experienced player, you have 3 options in response:
-Ignore it and move on. This is standard forum procedure.
-Answer their questions, offer your opinions, allow yourself some satisfaction for helping another player improve their game with your experiences. This is the nice, helpful thing to do.
-Maybe answer the OP's question if they're lucky, but be a condescending prick in the process, forgetting that once upon a time, you didn't know everything there was to know about FFXI, and the many friends/strangers/forum posters that helped you expand your knowledge to what it is today.
It's 2009. You can rest assured that the vast majority of posts on this and other FFXI sites are going to be pretty similar to this one until the servers shut down. If this somehow affronts your delicate sensibilities, I urge you to forego posting at all, instead of derailing these threads into a soapbox to espouse your unique and rather childish worldviews as they apply to FFXI. Honestly, your mastery of circular logic would be quite impressive, if it didn't make my brain hurt so much every time I read it.
To summarize:
The OP could've answered their own question by doing some research, yes; however, you could've not been a complete jackass by simply exercising some restraint and common courtesy.
Advantage: OP

RDM can attain an almost static 50% reduction to recast time, SCH can over shoot this for a total of 60% reduction under Alacrity (provided you are wearing loafers and keeping dark weather on yourself)

MACC is a joke, any job with access to mage gear can hit close the MACC cap on legion mobs, which is why my BRD/RDM can land slow/para/blind despite having only 150 skill (from /RDM.)
