Do things like Addendum and Light Arts skill caps use your SCH level or your main level?

For instance, if I'm 75SMN/37SCH with a Healing skill of 114 and use Light Arts and then Addendum: White, which of the following would happen:
  • Both abilties use SMN so my healing is raised to 246 and I have access to Reraise II
  • Both abilities use my SCH level of 37 and the highest addendum spell I have access to is Reraise.

Your skill caps are based off your main job's level. Your abilities are based off your SCH sub level (37).

Thanks! That's a little upsetting to hear I won't get Reraise II but great to hear that I get my skill caps!

SMN/SCH is especially nice on enemies that can be aspired.

Having a decent Dark Magic Skill means you'll land better aspirs.

Healing skill doesn't affect when spells are obtained ever. You can be a gimped WHM with a healing skill of 68 and you can still obtain all spells up to Reraise III. Reraise is obtained at level 35 on Scholar if you apply Addendum: White, and so you will only gain access to it on a level 70 or higher job.

When you use /SCH and apply Light/Dark Arts your skill will be raised according to your main job level. But, however, if the skill is not native to your current job it will be slightly reduced. The same applies if the skill is native, but is not yet capped. This is why any player can use /SCH and still Aspir for decent amounts without native Dark Magic skill.

I know how healing skill works, when I talked about caps I was mainly referring to the fact when I use Dark Arts I won't be stuck with the zero skill I get from being SMN and level 37SCH skills. :-p

If it worked that way, I'm not sure there'd be any reason to main Scholar ever XD

My channel with FFXI battle music and hard to find songs that were not even released on Original Soundtracks.

I also plan on uploading FFXIV music when the game is released.

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!
