Where can you get away with nuking in Morgana's?Follow

Bit of a new scholar here. I haven't hit 75 yet but I like to plan my equipment in advance so that I know what I need to start working toward right away. Anyway, the price of this has gone down quite a bit on my server in the last few months and I was thinking of buying it, but I'm a little worried about the -magic acc. I've heard it's easy to hit or at least approach the cap on magic acc with a decent nuking set, and hardly notice the negative effects on Morgana's. I'm just wondering what events it would be ok to nuke full time in Morgana's if I were to buy it, and how much int and skill+ gear in other areas would be required to do it.

I'd say EXP and lesser (H)NMs, pretty much. Actually being allowed to nuke on harder stuff has been a rarity for me since we usually need more support.

Alright, thanks for your reply.

So if you can nuke effectively in Morgana's against some weaker HNMs, would it be safe to assume that in anything with hordes of (comparatively) weaker mobs such as dynamis, Morgana's would be the best choice?

Well, as long as you use the correct weather the - Accuracy shouldn't really be an issue, so pretty much anything that isn't highly resistant. just whatever you do, don't use it on the opposite day of the spell, I.e Thunder spells on earthsday because you'll start noticing that - 8, for me it has worked on even bigger mobs liek KS99 etc, (not helix spells, stick to errant or ixion cloak if you have it) i never used it on HNMs because i already knew what the results where going to be. SCH is the only real job that can get away with using that thing, that's why it isn't as popular and sort of cheap. if you are serious about nuking i'd say get it, as long as you are sure the mob doesn't have a high resist rate. it destroys puddings as a good example

The other two posters are right on about Morgana's. From what I can tell, places like limbus, dynamis, any exp mob(I like Aura Statues), most low to mid level NM's, and even a few HNM's. Where it starts to get rough is on mobs that even Blm's seem to have a rough time. Like Gods, High tier HNM's. definately a good piece of gear, though gearing for Macc in other spots may become a requirement depending on what your fighting. Nothing a balrahn's ring and omega ring cant fix, or any of the other slots that can equip Macc.

Ok, thank you again for the replies. It sounds like resists won't be much of an issue in most of the events I do so I'll definitely consider picking one of these up.

If you don't have a suitable neck piece (I.E. Uggy pen below 50%MP, Prudence torque, or Caract Choker) the +elemental skill from elemental torque would almost cancel out the -Macc on morgana's. Throw in omega ring, and some merits and you'd be back in the black for Macc.

As to when to stack more +skill/+Macc, watch the "good" Blms in your LS (if you have one), and see when they stack on more +skill/+Macc.

I've been considering it for awhile on WHM and have been wondering how it would work. Considering that we have no native MAB and can get a few pieces with good Divine Skill+ bonuses, I think it might work well for Holy and Banish (especially since it's not like we nuke anything difficult anyway).

Morgana's isn't going to "put you in the red" for macc. If you're in a situation where you are using your max damage gear with floored resist rates *usually EXP, limbus, dienamis *except bosses*, lesser HNMs, Salvage, Nyzul, etc....* then Morgana's will keep you well above an acceptable resistance rate for those same situations.

The best way to tell for sure, though, is to test yourself.
