Caract ChokerFollow

After realizing they weren't going to put the mission ??? at G-6 back into Qufim Island I decided I would go for this item, seeing as it was the only useful item in the entire update for SCH. I do a /sea Ru'Aun and theres 3 people there so not much competition yet so I figure it would take a few kills to get a chest and I'd be on my way.

Well long story short, I spend 5hours last night and 5 hours this morning killing flamingos and 1 pot over and over. I get 5 brown chests in 275 kills (6 blue chests). While the sample size is still a bit low, yikes at 4%. Keep getting the purple dialogue from /smes informing me of maintenance in less than an hour, close to 30mins. I had no thf tools left, my second character wasnt available for haste/cures anymore, and I was out of Blood bolts...so I said one more and I'm out. Brown Casket...4 chances no thf tool. Between 21 and 53. First number is odd. One of the numbers is 4. 34...hi-potion+3, hi-potion+3, pinch of minium, and a Caract Choker hiding at the very bottom of the list.

Well, enough about the annoying casket system. This item is fantastic for SCH and pretty good for BLM too. We have 2 options for the neck slot prior to 50% mp (uggi latent); Enlightened Chain and Prudence Torque. Anyone who does sea knows that prudence is a stingy bastard, and Enlightened chain just falls short of being a cool item. While this piece doesn't eliminate any piece we can wear because enlightened is required for helix and uggi for under 50%...it definately adds to our nuking capabilities.

Good Luck to all of you who do attempt to get this. Again its Treasure Casket in Ru'Aun Gardens. Other items that I got while searching were Jewelled Collar (100k), Marid Belt (30k), Minium (10k-20k), and a crap ton of potions.

Ya, like I said Prudence is better but its also extremely annoying to obtain for several reasons. First, Prudence isn't the most popped sea god by any linkshell. No one really aims for Prudence often, just when they absolutely have to for Love. Second, the drop rate on Prudence Torque is terrible. Pretty sure I'm about 1/15 on kills I've taken part in.

So again, no this isn't the best neck we have available, but it is very good for those of us who do not have Prudence and still want to max damage before uggi kicks in. Keep in mind, the 2MAB will definately beat out 3INT on Enlightened Chain.

Definitely a nice piece but after I went 0/25 on chests I said "you know, it isn't that nice..."
