Hmm, some parts will naturally depend on Storms, Staves, and finally what you're fighting in terms of resist rates. If resists aren't an issue, something like the below would probably be "up there" on the performance scale.

Main: Proper HQ staff.
Sub: Bugard Strap +1 (INT+1)
Ammo: Phantom Tathlum (INT+2)
Head: Scholar's Mortarboard (INT+4)
Neck: Uggalepih Pendant (+8 MATK Latent)
R.Ear: Moldavite Earring (+5 MATK)
L.Ear: Novio Earring (+7 MATK)
Body: Mahatma Hpl. (+11 INT)
Hands: Yigit Gages (+5 INT, +2 MATK)
R.Ring: Snow Ring (+5 INT)
L.Ring: Snow Ring (+5 INT)
Back: Gleeman's Cape (+5 INT)
Waist: Proper Obi with Storms.
Legs: Mahatma Slops (+8 INT)
Feet: Yigit Crackows (+3 INT, +2 MATK)

Total: +49 INT, +24 MATK, 15% from Staves, then Food and Weather Bonus.

If, by some chance, you have all of this, breaking 1500 on an Ebullience'd Thunder IV shouldn't be out of the question. Otherwise, you'd probably be in the 1000-1100 range if the mob isn't too tough.

You might want to add the Vicious Mufflers (Lv 70, MAB +5) as a Hand option when you consider pure MAB over INT.

The laundry list of options and influences on resist and potency is what makes nuking classes so difficult to pin down.

There's also Goliard Cuffs for straight M.Acc. and MAB. (+4 to each).

OP there isn't a straight "ultimate nuking gear" set, because like Seriha said, things vary. The goal is to come up with two sets in your mind, a set for when Resists are not a problem, and a set for when Resists could be a problem.

Vicious mufflers should out perform yigit on non helix spells. 3 MAB typically out weighs 5 int, especially on a job like SCH with low base MAB.

Hmm, interesting speculation. Well, let's backward calculate it, and see how much int the target would need for a 1500 Thunder IV (w/ ebullience). Also assuming /rdm:

1500/1.2 = 1250 (damage before ebullience)
1250/1.1 = 1137 (damage before weather spell)
1137/1.15 = 989 (damage before staff)
989/1.44 = 687 (damage before MAB)
(687-541)/2 = 73 (amount of int more than target needed for 687 base damage)

Analysis: to pull off a 1500 Thunder IV (non MB, conditions described) it seems you'd need about 73 more int than whatever you're nuking. 49 of this is coming from gear; the other 24 would have to come from simply having higher base int (from your race/job) or from buffs/food.

For fun, /blm would look like:

989/1.48 = 669 (damage before MAB)
(669-541)/2 = 64 (amount of int more than target needed for 669 base damage)

And with vicious mufflers instead: 44 int 29 mab

989/1.47 = 673 (damage before MAB)
(673-541)/2 = 66 (amount of int more than target needed for 673 base damage)

*Note, with mufflers you'd only need an additional 22 int; yigit needed 24

And with vicious mufflers and /blm:

989/1.53 = 647 (damage before MAB)
(673-541)/2 = 53 (amount of int more than target needed for 673 base damage)

You'd need 4 more int than the mob you were nuking. Food should close the gap in this case most of the time.

Well, the 1500 was pretty much estimation built upon the 1320 I'd done just skilling staff in Boyahda. 1400 felt like a no-brainer just knowing what I don't have at the moment, so was feeling generous.

Thanks, some of the gear mentioned i hadn't thought of, like the cape. Mostly i was asking so I'd know what to put on my Wish list (I have five slots) and other than ixion's cloak for soloing i couldn't think of anything.
And mostly when i need to nuke like in certain LS events i'll go /blm if no healing support is needed.

I wasn't trying to make a point, I was just curious, and thought I'd share the numbers I crunched out.
