Alright I'm a 75 Scholar and a 75 Red Mage and I've been looking over some of the threads posted here and saw an interesting Int build that had dual wielded Mistilteinn. My question is would the 15% bonus to damage and accuracy from the HQ staves be better or worse then getting the 20 int bonus from two Mistilteinn. Of course it would be situational depending on elemental skill and accuracy however if you had enough skill to not get resisted without the staves, would the 15% bonus be better or would 20 Int be a better choice?

well if you're not getting resisted then of course the mnd/int would be superior.
you should look into Alkalurops though, a club that does int+10 mnd+10 macc+20

edit: i just realized you were tlaking about nuking o_O, no int wands are fail use staves! but alkalurops is nice for slow/para

The 10% dmg bonus on the staves is very hard to beat when nuking. 20 int shouldn't come close to the damage from even a NQ staff. Throw on the elemental accuracy, and it isn't even a competition. Also consider the cost involved in 2x Mistilteinn and the fact you have to go /nin for dual wield.

How about for Helices? Since the damage is based on SCH INT vs. MOB INT Assuming accuracy wasn't an issue.
Edit: I'm thinking staffs are better but I don't really know the math behind Helix spells. I'm just trying to figure out what gear to look out/farm for.

sch/nin doesn't have MAB trait so dual wielding is not an option

I'd use that staff for most endgame nuking situations. Resist rates are horrible. MAAC+20 And Int+10 might be the cure...

magic attack is less influential when considering helix. by all means if u have these sticks try it out. the question is if 20 int is better than the loss of magic attack from sub and the HQ staves. personally, i dont think so.
I guarantee against the right mob that Int+20 will add more to your Helix than an HQ staff.
