I just hit lvl 73 sch and took my sch to sky to see how it fared. After much anticipation I realized that sch weather effects ,which was my main draw to this job, just don't work. These are the tests I ran:

1. It was firesday at the moment so I asked a smn which had his AF2 tunic to cast Shiva. Smn AF2 tunic will give you -4 avatar perp. when you have corresponding avatar out. I casted cryohelix on him but he didnt get -4 avatar perp. The spell didn't work.

2. I equipped dusty ledeslens "in sandstorm movement speed +12%". I casted geohelix on myself and raced a nin with AF boots on at night......I got smoked, geohelix didn't work.
3. A buddy of mine had that greataxe that gives you 99dmg in fire weather, sorry I forgot the name. He equipped it while it was iceday and watched his attack as I casted firehelix on him, It didnt go up. Firehelix didn't work.
4. A blm friend of mine who had most of the elemental obi's was using lightning obi on lightning day and was doing huge numbers. He swares by the power of obi's, he is aware of what kind of boost they give. I had him use his "wind"obi and casted aerohelix on him and told him to try it out. After him going back and forth for 10 mins he concluded that it wasn't doing the dmg he was used to. I believe him. The weather spells don't work.

First, Weather spells are Storm spells and not Helix spells. It is sad you reached 73 without noticing this.

1 - Summoner's Doublet is based on day, it is the Horn which is based on weather. It's -3 Perp Cost and not -4.

2 - Ninja Kyahan are +25% Movement Speed.

3/4 - Stop casting Helices on your friends you will kill them...
Mighty Axe depends on day not weather.
Well, you really need to do Obis tests again, storm spells work great on equipment items.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't most of the gear with weather effects on it only work in double weather? SCH spells only give you single weather, unless I'm just way off base.

Asking a question leads to defaulting? Smiley: mad

Desert Boots most certainly give +12% movement speed in single weather, or with a Sandstorm spell. That's all I really care about.

Edit: Dammit, OP's got me calling Storms Helices. -_-

Not necessarily:

Desert Boots: 12% Movement Speed in Sandstorm weather.

Dust Storm is single element, and Sandstorm is Double weather however the boots work in both single and double elements and casting Sandstorm on a person wearing them.

This is stupid. But surprisingly no flames yet. But I will be the first to call the OP stupid if nobody else is going to do it.

No, posting in the Scholar forum leads to sub-defaulting. I suspect someone is angry because their mother didn't love them enough and their father abused them.

Either way, the OP is just trollin' around. The Mighty Axe is Firesday, not any type of fire weather. There is no reason for the weather spell to "make it work" like the OP (probably didn't really try to do, since he couldn't read Firestorm). The Desert Boots give increased movement speed, while the closest thing to Dusty Ledeslens are Dusk Ledelsens, which decrease movement speed no matter what. Just another waste-of-time poster.

73 Levels and you're trying to cast Helix spells on your own party members? I'm kidding, I guess he just got mad and got the names mixed up..but casting weather spells for objects that need the day? Nice to know you can level a job almost all the way and have 0 information about it!
