Few of my ideas
1) Ability to select a party member to share your Dark Arts / Light Arts benefits with. However the effect they got would be dimmed down
Example1: If you Dark Arts with a NIN/BLM they'd get an F Elemental Magic.
Example2: E Dark Magic from a RDM would be increase to a D, etc. D magic would get changed to C, C magic would be left untouched
MP reductions and increases would be kept the same
However this would "lock" art's abilities onto the said person, so if you switched to Light Arts they would too. Could be useful for some situations.
2) Magic to switch next targets skillchain elements to a specific element of choice. Stacking these spells would allow things like being able to close Darkness with Rampage, or some such.
Of course, this could potentially introduce a level 4 skillchain if you had multiple SCH's in one party.
3) A third "Arts" ability, gained at level 50 or something. Call it "Elemental Arts".
If you used it, it would give you arts based on the day of the week. For example, if it was Lightningsday and you used it, you would get "Thunder Arts". This would wear off automatically after 4 minutes, and it couldn't be manually cancelled or overwritten with Dark Arts or Light Arts. 10 minute recast. No Stategems could be used under this effect.
What it would do: MP Cost for spells of that specific day would be decreased by 50%. MP Cost for other spells would be raised by 150%. Magic Accuracy would be increased 5% and MAB 10%. Thusly, other spells would take a 5% M.acc cut and a 10% MAB cut. Recast times would be decreased by 50% for said spells, and incrased 150% for other ones. Cast time would work the same. Useful? Maybe. A SCH in a standard level 70 party would be pretty dangerous on lightningsday or Iceday. This could also be SCH's trump card in DDing. Chain nuking. They could also solo pretty good on windsday or iceday with bind or gravity.
I just think SCH needs something to make them stand out from RDM and BLM more.
