Any suggestion for SE to improve weather spellsFollow

So far weather spell (Storm) spell is known to give a single weather effect to a party member.

This would allow them to:
1) Enchance spell's damage ex: Helix, BLM spell
2) Allow the player to trigger weather equipment

To enchance Scholar, I think they can also add these:
3) Allow the players to trigger weather day equipment (FireDay, IceDay, etc.)
4) Allow the player to trigger Day/Night equipment (Voidstorm, Aurarastorm)
5) Add special effect like stoneskin with Sandstorm (idea from another thread)
6) Enchance Summoner's avatar ex increase MP Regen, lower perpetuation cost...
(idea from another thread) but this seem too job specific to me.

What other way can SE improve the weather spell?
What are your though?

Since Scholar only have two kind of spell Storm and Helix atm. I think they should give some noticable difference to make this job stands out.

I dont think changing it to effect day/night and day of the week would actually work. Since its a weather not a day. We can change the elements not the days of the week.

Hehe.

Ugh I hate mondays!
/earthsage casts saturday on himself
TIME TO PARTY!

You know what I dont get is...just how many weather effect gear pieces do we have out there. That actually are kinda worth it. Is there somewhere I can find a list or we can get a list? Cause from what I've seen most cept obi's, desert boots(cause i love to move a bit faster) and smn' horn is about it. Maybe SE should release some more pieces (craftable) that has weather effects on it.

I personally think they should make them longer. And Increase the bonus slightly.

I found this is another thread.
Weather Gear List:
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/jobs.html?fjob=20;mid=1194122629278032256;num=45;page=1

I'm not sure if it is complete.

I was thinking that the ability could give Weather Day Effect.
Then it would open up to some more gear, ie. the gear you get from avatar, Ninja's night effect equipment, etc. Making it more useful.

things i would be satisfied with:

1. make weather last around 5 mins
2. make it double weather instead of single
3. give a buff to each weather. example: fire - att
wind - eva
earth - def
water - (spell interrupt?)
ice - magic att
thunder - crit rate
light - (something)
dark - (something)

any one of those three would make me happy. they'll do something. remeber how cor was, the buffs kinda sucked(chaos roll would give about +8 attack on a normal roll w/o a drk) and now they made it a lot stronger.

I think lengthening the time they last, and decreasing the recast would help.

Behind a sch this could make scholar nasty with dark weather and drain and aspir.

Now that I wouldn't mind.

Only thing that worries me is people will look at the buffs over anything else that a weather spell might be needed for..such as the latent effects on weather based gear. As for having the buffs on Light / Dark those seem to go with MP / HP. And if by any means it gives us a refresh? "Voidstorm plz" 4x. ; ;

As for the double weather? Maybe in AF? Enhances Weather spells?

Double weather and longer duration and they'd actually be useful.

Few of my ideas

1) Ability to select a party member to share your Dark Arts / Light Arts benefits with. However the effect they got would be dimmed down
Example1: If you Dark Arts with a NIN/BLM they'd get an F Elemental Magic.
Example2: E Dark Magic from a RDM would be increase to a D, etc. D magic would get changed to C, C magic would be left untouched
MP reductions and increases would be kept the same

However this would "lock" art's abilities onto the said person, so if you switched to Light Arts they would too. Could be useful for some situations.

2) Magic to switch next targets skillchain elements to a specific element of choice. Stacking these spells would allow things like being able to close Darkness with Rampage, or some such.

Of course, this could potentially introduce a level 4 skillchain if you had multiple SCH's in one party.

3) A third "Arts" ability, gained at level 50 or something. Call it "Elemental Arts".

If you used it, it would give you arts based on the day of the week. For example, if it was Lightningsday and you used it, you would get "Thunder Arts". This would wear off automatically after 4 minutes, and it couldn't be manually cancelled or overwritten with Dark Arts or Light Arts. 10 minute recast. No Stategems could be used under this effect.

What it would do: MP Cost for spells of that specific day would be decreased by 50%. MP Cost for other spells would be raised by 150%. Magic Accuracy would be increased 5% and MAB 10%. Thusly, other spells would take a 5% M.acc cut and a 10% MAB cut. Recast times would be decreased by 50% for said spells, and incrased 150% for other ones. Cast time would work the same. Useful? Maybe. A SCH in a standard level 70 party would be pretty dangerous on lightningsday or Iceday. This could also be SCH's trump card in DDing. Chain nuking. They could also solo pretty good on windsday or iceday with bind or gravity.

I just think SCH needs something to make them stand out from RDM and BLM more.

Not really.
It's been established that Pluto's Staff gave better returns than Diabolos' Pole, even in Dynamis/Apollyon.

I don't have one, but someone was trying to tell me it was +25% damage. I'd rather it be worse because I don't want to get another Inv-1, but if it is better, I suppose I'll go pick one up. Got a link to the tests for it so I can be certain?

I don't have a link to tests, but a friend of mine in game got it and I was with him while he tested it v plutos (small sample, bout 40 casts or so). Conclusion: pure inventory-1, sadly.
