Hmm, was a fun weapon to off hand to an Almace, especially with 420+ enhancing magic. Wasn't a bad weapon either, DA+4 and the enspell+7 on both hands was kinda cool. Ohh well.

Really do wonder why it took so long for them to address this and Save the Queen, as if anyone still uses that sword.

Never got around to getting a chimeric but I'd still try and get one regardless of finishing off elemental shamshirs.

When I can login I'll check the Chim and see if it still effects main hand. Not getting my hopes up though. It's fast, piercing damage, +7 damage on each hand and DA+4%, that is a pretty solid package. If it's been changed then I'll just off hand something else.

Yeah, I saw that note and kind of scratched my head. It's not like that +7 or even what Enhancing Sword offered, antiquated as it is, was breaking the game in a world where some are landing crits for 1k+.

Well I was using Chim Flueret as my offhand weapon while doing Evis spam. It actually works(ed) really well in that function. I have 26~29 damage enspells (depending on earing I'm wearing), the sword brought me to 33~36 on each hit. Not that big inside abyssea but pretty good outside.

Outside of abyssea the ability to land 35ish damage @ a rate if 2.8+ attacks a round is pretty intense, and that is dependent on what you were MH/OH. Just that alone was around 90DMG before even factoring in WD, and if you were MH a Twilight that number climbs even higher.

Its a slap in the face, but outside of abyssea Enspells are pretty bad **** and I can understand why they would want to limit it to a +7 (*1.4+) instead of a +7 (*1.4+) + 7*(1.4+) in abyssea ya its a WTF but outside when enspells basically give you 2H damage before weapon D that aint right.

If Enspells somehow applied to WS, I might be inclined to agree, but given the juggling act we do with Haste/ACC/ATK, again, I don't feel like it was the end of the world. The weapon alone negates Ceremonial Dagger cheese since the Fleuret would still be feeding TP.

Damage not being focus != Damage not being important.

Rather simply, slipping out some new gear with better stats isn't all that hard, especially if recycling graphics. It's creating new abilities with varied and wanting effects that requires more attention, especially if today's botched Cure magic is any indication of care required to not outright break the game.

While that is true supplementary damage (which has always been RDM's Mantra) is very variable, everyone ive ever played with shares the same ideals that 70% of a DD's DMG is worthy enough to warrant auto attacks. Since RDM is capable of 80+ (inside abyssea slightly less outside) Damage should be a minute factor (this in no way condones RDM actually being useful in abyssea, it is still mostly useless, but as said elsewhere it neither boosts nor negates a groups performance by being their in any relative manner)

You're forgetting we're dealing with the company that took away sambas on pets less than a day after giving them to us and apologized for it afterward as if they were doing us a favor.
