Didn't really rush into xping my rdm like most of us would.... but finally got it to 80 last night, what are you guys gonna trying out now that we are a bit stronger?

/dnc you get reverse flourish.

/sch you got accession/manifestation

you got tier ups with Nukes.

You got native Regen II (yummy HP returns with composure.)

Other than that, not much. If it was me, I'd go have some fun in campaign. AoE Buffs go go go!

Also, any missions you haven't wrapped up, see how much easier they are now at level 80.

I went soloing Misareaux vultures on RDM/BLU to cap my dagger skill.

The new Aquaveil actually makes Stoneskin recasts (and by extension, fighting these birds), a snap.

Once I get 80 I'll go back to waiting for Pokemon White and Black, personally.

That's about it.

I'm diggin' it too. Wearing -%interruption makes Aquaveil last longer by taking care of some of the "procs"... not so noticeable with Ninjitsu.

Funny how SE adjusted Aquaveil rather than imposed a %interruption cap. It's like they're asking "Which is it Red Mages, you want uninterrupted spells or capped recast? /evillaugh"

If anything, I need to get revenge on BLM Maat. He's the only Maat I ever lost to ~_~

(I did try again and beat BLM Maat later though; he only won the first round due to an absolute cheesy trick)

I'm not bothering to level RDM to 80. I just know what the day I hit 80, SE announces that Accession will not work with Refresh and Phalanx II. Haste was a backstab, and they didn't even bother mentioning enspell II effects don't work either >_<.

Uh, phalanx2 doesn't work with accession, and why the @#%^ would you want to accession enspell2s?

This wouldn't be a terrible loss really, as there are not many cases where you'd want to burn Accession on Refresh in the first place, and idk why you'd want to AoE Phalanx II either.

They wouldn't take away AoE Phalanx either, because then they'd have to take it away from SCH.

Kind of a minor detail, but you get the :Ni line of Ninjutsu nukes from /nin, which if you're a meleeing rdm like me makes Debuff sticking really easy on just about anything worth meleeing on.

Because then you wouldn't have to be standing in the middle of the group. Also, duration, which is a valid point when you consider Stratagem recovery. Granted, if you have Phalanx II you probably would just save Stratagems for something else...but there's no real logical reason that this shouldn't work regardless.

Lets not stretch it, it's a fixed -30 for the given element, around half of what a Threnody would net (assuming a proper instrument). It's pretty rare to have accuracy problems on lower level mobs anyway, assuming you have halfway decent gear/merits.

All HQ staves give you is +30 magic accuracy. It's basically the same thing. I agree, I rarely have a magic accuracy problem on things worth meleeing. I melee a lot of Abyssea NM's though and it really helps to use a ni nuke. Also, using a ni nuke means I can get away with pure MND gear and not have to macro in enfeebling+ which I typically would otherwise have to. (Sometimes I still do though regardless).

It's not too big of a deal but it can help.

HQ staves give you 30 MAcc. Elemental Ninjitsu gives -30 elemental resist. Unless you have some testing that equates the two, I don't know that it'd be a 1:1 relation. Otherwise the -60 for Threnodies (with +2 instrument) would tend to be a lot more powerful than it seems to be.

First time I've seen any info on Phalanx II not working with Accession. Clopedia didn't have it when I looked.
So none of the spells 50+ can be used with the aoe strategems? Or only the RDM exclusive ones?

Phalanx II : Phalanx caps at 300 skill, while II doesn't AND lasts longer. If skill caps keep rising with 5 each level to 99, current gear allows 425 skill or Phalanx(33). That's a whole 5 more damage absorbed! The earth would tilt with the imbalance!

Enspell II : similar reasoning, with enspells II dealing a whole 10 dmg more(52 vs 42 now) on the first hit.

Maybe I want some more variation then just cycling Para II, Slow II, Haste, Refresh ad infinitum... All that lvl 80 gives me is the ability to do it 5% faster...

I'm sticking with PUP80 for now... at least that's actually fun to play.

Phalanx II was still 28, just like Phalanx, at 326 skill, so indication is that they both cap.

En-II seems to cap as well, at least when I tested it. Did 40 damage at 326 skill (and yes I left skill gear in)....buuut that also leads into why you wouldn't want to Accession them: they key to the character's current Enhancing skill, and thus would be pointless for melee. If they worked like En-I skill-wise, and were Accessionable, they'd be great for use on 2h weapon users (particularly), assuming there was no DNC in the party.
