That's entirely different. This for example.
Now, that is surprising.
However, I sure as **** wouldn't risk 50 million gil (25 of which isn't even mine!) on this one case of a GM stepping in. How many hundreds, if not thousands, of stories have we heard about theft after an agreement was made? Agreements with crafters and the crafter bails when he HQs, linkshell members leaving shell/server with items/pops, trading items and giving the buyer a cheaper lookalike item, or YOYD agreements as X pointed out. These are all agreements made beforehand, most are in chat log, and in every single case I've seen except this one, the GM said "I'm sorry this happened to you, but you're screwed.
Also, I'm not usually one to use the racism card, but in that case you posted, the seller and complainer was JP. In case after case I see GMs constantly favoring JP. This case is a good example, the dozens of cases of JP parties encroaching on EN parties then the JPs call GM on the EN and of course the GM makes the EN move, and I even remember seeing a video of Avista soloing and getting MPK'ed, then makes a GM call and the MPKers depop literally seconds after he sends the GM call. But I digress...
I, for one, am not going to use this one case of justice being served, against thousands of others which show otherwise, to suddenly trust every transaction made, just because we made an arrangement in chat.
edit: my apologies. This is supposed to be a ding thread and I'm going waaaaay off topic.
