Guess who'se gunna be in abyssea all the time now* >.>

Sweetness. I wonder what the enhancements will do - most likely all of them will be worth wearing for an enhanced haste samba effect.

On second look I wonder why they put evasion and tactical parry on the same piece lol...

Overall it looks like A: haste samba will get a boost with the entire set and B: we can hit the gear haste cap w/o spending millions (i hope)

At first glance they look like they're just solo pants.

But they're worth wearing just for the haste +5% and +5 dagger skill (about how much accuracy/damage does skill convert to?)

I'm still pretty impressed, but I guess it seems less impressive because all of our enhanced effects other than sambas which, in my book, enhanced sambas makes the whole set win are, for new abilities. We don't have any idea how Feather Step works (and it's abit strange why they didn't just make it overall step potency, but who knows? Dnc seems to be on the way to be Crit master.), Most people don't seem to like Climactic Flourish, though with the new presto change it could end up being alot more viable to compile FM's while F2's are on cooldown.

I dunno how you can enhance it any more to be honest. All I can think of is giving you 10 crit rounds instead of 5, or making it work on any weaponskill, not just ones that need a crit chance.

Tactical Parry is kind of a bummer, but if it makes it so you get a significant amount of TP for every parry, might end up being worth it trying to max parrying skill.

If anyone was not aware, the seals necessary to upgrade the base AF3 items to their +1 incarnations (which are pretty **** burly in their own right) can be attained not only via lower-tier Scars NMs, but as random rewards from repeatable quests in Scars zones; sample sizes are generally still too small at this point to say anything conclusively, but it looks like each zone has 5 repeatables that award seals, and each of those repeatables has 4 jobs for which it can award them.

Only DNC-specific info I could find on this was that the seals for Charis Shoes +1 come from Boxwatcher's Behest in Vunkerl; you do NOT need to carry the heaviest pack to get a seal (and in fact you shouldn't because you're looking at a 25 minute crawl if you do). Sample size is still too small to tell if harder difficulties are more likely to award seals, but they are not required in any event.

EDIT: Soil and Green in Misareaux gives leg seals, and Looking for Lookouts in Attohwa should give head seals.

Did Boxwater about 30 times.

Seals:
4x WAR feet
3x SCH feet
1x SMN feet
1x DNC feet

9/30

Everytime I came home from work and started doing this, the first 2 would always give me seal. Have done this for 4 days now. After that, just random. For example I have had 3 in a row and then 7 nothing. Light/Medium/Heavy seems only to affect the Cruor/Credit reward.

Additionally I am fame level 3 now in AbysVunk.

Made into a pseudo guide (mostly because I'm tired of having 10 wiki tabs open at a time when I go farm lol). Will update as info comes in and when they eventually add the rest of the gear.

added info on the +2 upgrade items currently not on wiki. Looks like they all come from T3 VNMs in the respective zones...which means they will be a pain to get ><;;;;

+2 items should come from two NMs per zone. One of them might be the T3 VNM, but other should be normal high-tier NM pops a la quest bosses. Still potentially annoying, but imo not as bad as having to go through VNM tier-ups over and over and over again.

Have been having terrible luck getting the boots - I've seen maybe 4-5 AF3 boots drop in a 4 hour session with maxed amber. May just have gotten unlucky but a good 75% of the big gold caskets were temp items.

Updated OP with the set bonus, but thats pretty much it if my sources (people on my server who have completed Af3 pieces) are correct. Occ DD under sambas is kinda underwhelming (was hoping for potency) but since all 3 pieces are optimal for TPing in, then its not too shabby.

Wish I could confirm 100% though...but for now I'll trust the info.

Edit: Yup confirmed with Byrthnoth on BG, definitely is Occ DD. Now if it works with everyone getting sambas (still unconfirmed, but possible) that could be a lot of fun ^^

Occasional Double Damage?
To your melee hit, or the actual daze?
Drain/Aspir samba occasionally give you double back ie 10HP instead of 5?
Then, does Haste Samba occasionally give you twice as much haste back ie 20% haste instead of 10? >_>;

Well considering that no samba have any actual damage (except aspir, but is mp damage considered damage?) I'd believe that what they meant is melee damage.

Idk, seems pretty good to me. All depends on how high the % is to Occ DD. Even if it's just for the dnc, you're almost always under a samba and the Occ DD from the weapons works on ws too, so not a stretch for it to work on ws from the samba as well.

It was hard to tell due to uncapped pDIF, but it looked like the proc rate was around 1-2% with two pieces. I have three pieces now, so I'll try to get back into Abyssea with Dancer when I have stones to waste. I still don't know if it affects other people, and it's going to be kind of hard to figure out because the people I go with generally use weapons that have their own "doubles damage" ability.

Edit:
It still parsed about 1% with 3 pieces. 19 doubled damage crits[320:545] / 1629 crits [121:286]. There were 14 below half max (121:143). You can adjust for that if you want, but it doesn't matter. It's still ~1%. Still, the rate is so low that I can't pretend I have an accurate measure. It's something below 5%, I'd say.

Edit2:
Just realized I've been macroing in Dancer's Tiara for Samba still, so if the effect is determined on activation I'd effectively only have 2/3 pieces still (got head last). It may go up with a second piece after all, but I'd trade 1% double damage activation for 30 seconds longer of Samba.

Posted in =10, but added here too. It looks like feet seals now drop from Bastion resistance ops. I got a Navarch's from Ward Warden I in Abyssea - Vunkerl. Anyone want to hazard an educated guess as to which op gets us Charis Feet Seals? Abyssea - Misereaux Ward Warden I? Will test next vanadiel day.

Did some more testing with this set. I use AF1 head/AF3+2 feet/legs when I Samba, and the damage of 17/1326 crits was doubled.

We also get another Crit Damage bonus tier before 90. It's about 8% from traits now.
308 max normal damage with mainhand Kila +2 (D43, 12 from fSTR) against a piercing-weak monster with Charis feather and Razed Ruins:
308/(1.25*3.15*55) = 1.4222

So inquiring minds want to know...

does anybody have any idea what the enhancement to Feather Step is? I've just gotten them myself and from seeing everybody's research it's doesn't seem to be:

Accuracy
Increased crit rate
Increased crit damage
Step duration

I have no idea how else this step and this step alone could be "enhanced" - I feel like this is going to be dnc's tactical processor of sorts.
