Eva/Dagger skillup at lv 80Follow

Sorry for making another skillup thread, just wanted to share that I've found the best mob to catch skills up on after the rush to 80 :

-Lobison (80-83) Jugner forest(s)
-Fan Dance / Defender
-Pooping skillups

I went on low moon phase, don't know how much more dangerous they get with full moon, but it was cake even though they were T. Fights are long thanks to their self-heal, so not much legwork to do. Be prepared for long fights. Skillups came in fast and hard, just like Brannigan's love.

I started in my haste gear then swapped to eva just to increase eva proc rate and skillup by association.

They're not dangerous at all with FanDance and Defender (unless full moon buffs them).

EDIT: Full moon does make them more of a headache, so go with a low moon for easiest semi-afk skilling.

I did demons in Castle Baileys (S) as DNC/WAR. Capped weapon in one night. Evasion and parrying skill up were very generous to capped eva in about two nights at few hours each.

I camped at the center of the cross just before the campaign battle area. No demons hang there.

Rarely used fan dance because of already high evasion. Only the blm hurts when you miss stunning -gaIII spells.

Abyssea itself is fairly generous with skillups.

If you are pulling hate, you should leave the pt that caps you at lv 80 with capped evasion.

If you are not pulling hate.... wtf are you doing? DNC is a very good DD job when played as a DD job, and you can force mobs your way with waltz.


Unless you are the puller ( meh for a THF, very bad job for a DNC ), then theres little reason to not have your eva capped or almost capped the when you get to 80+10.999.

So, capped my Evasion this way last weekend. My Parrying skill is horribly, terribly, unforgivably low though. I think I'm literally 75 levels under Parrying cap.

My questions are:
1) For Dancers with capped Parrying, how often do you Parry?
2) Strategy for skilling up Parrying is still:
* Find a monster that attacks frequently (Mandragora, etc) where your skill would be uncapped if your main job was equal to its level
* Stack Parrying Skill to increase your proc rate (2x Parrying Knives, Parrying Torque, Boxer's Mantle are what I'm aiming for at the moment)
* Stack - Evasion to decrease your Evasion proc rate so you can Parry more
* Potentially get a few of them hitting you at once
* Melee one and Waltz Waltz Waltz
eh?

At skill 200, Mandies on the lower floor of the Tree are off limits. I'm thinking about Korrigans in the upper tree, and then Pucks in Den of Rancor. Chigoes are nice on RDM, but DNC needs TP to stay alive and we can't melee them or they'll die from crits. After I cap out on those two mob types, I don't really know where to go, but I guess I could give Gnoles a try on New Moon.

So, my saga to get a little Parrying Skill continues. I've found the least painful way to skill up is really in Abyssea parties or against NMs, pulling the occasional .4 or .5. I average less than 1 level of parrying per hour against Pucks or Korrigans (Martial master no longer applies because my skill is over 200).

If anyone finds a better way to do this, please let me know!
