and i have been gone from the game, especially DNC, for a long time.

level sync is new to me.
FoV is new to me (although have been doing it for my BLM)
and Campaign is just confusing to me.

i guess my question is, how should i go about leveling my DNC?

i know we have really good solo abilities, but would doing EP/DC mobs w/ FoV be a better option than seeking for a PT? i don't even remember what my invite rate was, or if it has changed. not sure if syncing to a lower level would be better, either.

also, when should i make the transition to Campaign? and i guess further-more, what should i be doing in Campaign to maximize my exp?

sorry for the noob question. i lvled DNC when it first came out, then went on hiatus from FFXI :(

Solo EP/DC mobs as you see fit with FoV while seeking for a PT.

Level Sync has revolutionized the game. All it does is allow you to put a level cap on your PT IF your PT has someone of that LV.

IE: PT consists of members lv 10, 20, 13, 64, 75, 50, if you set the level sync person to the LV10 your PT will be level capped to that LV. Same if you sync to the 20, 13, or ANY lv.

It's also a good idea to make your own PTS and make everyone sync to you so you keep your skills capped.

I wouldn't worry about campaign until AT LEAST 61 since you get an xp penalty below LV61.

You can start campaign earlier than that. In the 50s you only get a 20% exp cut so you can still get decent exp. I soloed a good 50% of my exp 50-60 (and even more 60+) in campaign. You can't hit beastmen, but walls and imps in offensive campaign should pose little trouble in the 50s.

The biggest thing to be aware of though with both campaign and level sync is that they both royally ***** with skill gains. You can't skill up while level synced if you're already capped for the sync level and you can't get skill at all in campaign. If your dagger isn't already capped (or close to it) from another job you'll be spending a LOT of time skilling up as you level.

I started campaign around 52ish. It was really really bad until 57. Not to mention the exp penalty, but soloing is not what it was pre-40ish. It's a long drawn out process before 57, but it is doable.
1. Get to an area before you think a capaign will start.
2. Kill some mobs in the area for tp.
A. Best area was north gustaberg(S) worms
1.I'm sure there are others but I was Bastok
3. join a party and do some healing
4. Rinse & Repeat
remember before 57 or so , you will either be having problems with hitting or with doing damage or both. /thf helped a little bit just in landing steps, but it's kinda a pain
This is a long arduous task at lower levels to do campaign, but compared to the big difference in time to solo mobs at this level.

I did all of this before the exp adjustment and before level sync
If you can get a sync party pre-61. This is probably your best bet.
Make sure you re-cap your dagger every level or so.(It makes a huge difference)
