I haven't done much soloing (Tier 2 VNMs, random NMs, etc. I generally do Abyssea on other jobs), but I've duoed some things that I don't see listed. If I'm in Abyssea, it's a good bet that I'm using DD Atmas and meat. My basic strategy is to solo with my support generating minimal hate because so many things have hate reset these days.
VNMs soloed:
Skuld, Urd, Farruca Fly, the other Orcus one - None of these are particularly difficult. The secret to Skuld is to trigger Chainspell using Violent Flourish while you run away. She still gets 1-2 chances to Bindga you, but in general you're fine just running away. I haven't tried the Krab ones because I've had a Blue Abyssite forever. Haven't tried the Northernlands ones because . . . they're so far away q.q; Crag-area VNMs have much higher accuracy than old-area ones, in my experience.
VNMs duoed:
Leech King - DNC/NIN + BRD/WHM. BRD sings Mambo/March, DNC pretty much solos. Erase Attack Down before WSing, try to stun Acid Mist (or after Acid Mist so you can get hate back). Try to force him into Blood Weapon mode as much as possible, because it stops him from using Acid Mist. Don't be afraid to cure your duo partner. If you get hit, you're going to lose a few hundred HP quickly from Poison regardless of Fan Dance.
Abyssea - Misareaux:
Flame Skimmer - duoed DNC/NIN + WHM/NIN. Debilitating Drone is AoE hate reset, Cursed Sphere is AoE damage. He attacks a lot, but his Acc is crap if your evasion build is decent. Unfortunately, your Acc on him is also crap unless you eat Sushi, so do that.
Gukumatz - Duoed DNC/NIN + (I don't remember). Really not a very hard fight. His Acc is bad and none of his moves have one-shot potential in an evasion build. His worst move is Delta Strike, which is three hits so the odds of him landing all three are low. Saber Dance + Haste Samba, I think.
Lolibri in Misareaux - DNC/NIN + WHM/NIN or SCH/RDM (for Grellow) He's not bad. I think he has hate reset too, and one of his moves may mimic the buffs you have for a short period, but he's evadable no problem. Avoid getting locked by his en-stun and you're golden.
Fat bat in Misareaux - DNC/NIN + WHM/NIN Again, wasn't that bad. Fat bats are never that bad.
I'm certain Iktomi soloable, though I already have my Ample Gloves so won't be killing it. His Sickle Slash goes through shadows but doesn't drop them. Fan Dance makes him a joke.
Abyssea - Konschtat:
Balaur (DNC/NIN) - His Acc is crappy, but you want to keep over 2k HP (and get Shell/Prot from the book at F-11) so he can't one-shot you with Hurricane Breath. He gains spikes/enspell after using certain Breaths below 50% HP, and they don't go away (even if you die and run back), so you need to pull another monster and TP on it while you WS Balaur. I recommend Funguars. It's a bit of a hike, but they're good. I (Taru) used Carbonara/Gnarled Horn/Razed Ruins to speed up the fight and give myself a little more HP. I suspect that Hurricane Breath is a true breath move (approximately proportional to his HP/5) that he gains access to after 50%. It probably caps out around 1600 damage with book Shell on. I had him use it on me at 49% for something like 1560 damage (and kill me). Also, Balaur really is pretty impotent/blind. After dying, I popped back up from Reraise, re-claimed, and back-tanked him until I unweakened. He made me use Violent Flourish once or twice (it lands fine), but other than that weakened Utsu timers were plenty for him.
Hexenpilx (or whatever) - (DNC/NIN). Got his pop item off a funguar I was TPing on for Balaur. Easy fight, his Acc sucks. Use Waltz 4 after Breath attacks. Sunbeam cape get. This guy felt like a NQ Funguar with more HP. I think I even killed him in my DD-TP build, and I know I didn't use Fan Dance.
La Theine:
Brooder - (DNC/WAR after an xp party or DNC/NIN normally) His enplague kinda sucks, but you just need to keep your Waltz 4s up with his drain move spam. Keep Fan Dance on and don't rush too hard. It was about a 10 minute fight on DNC/WAR, GH/RR and Marbled Steak. I had to do Reverse Flourish -> Waltz IV towards the end (<25% HP) because he was using all of his drain moves one after the other for a few hundred damage. Took him on again later in the night with a WHM friend and it was a much faster fight. On DNC/NIN, it was much easier and I full-timed Haste Samba/Saber Dance. Probably a three minute fight.
Npfajkfaji Puk - DNC/NIN - Keep up shadows, nothing surprising. Fan Dance is worthless on this NM, because the only way he'll hit you is with Ill Wind (that will dispel Fan Dance and do about 700-800 damage). I use Saber Dance and Haste Samba. You can take out 25% HP with a good self-Darkness.
Chasmatic Hornet - DNC/NIN - Stun Terminal Sting below 25% (if he tries to use it). I used Violent Flourish after Frenzy Pollen and kited, probably don't have to. 100-25%, I was doing self-darkness with Pyrrhic -> Evisceration. After 25% I started sitting on finishing moves for stun and just stuck to Evisc.
La Theine Leige - DNC/NIN - True to wiki, you stun the (slow) Aeroga 3 he tries to cast once in a while and he'll never even use a TP move. Easy fight, though Brooder takes the "easiest mob ever" award for this zone.
Mangy-Tailed Marvin - DNC/NIN - He attacks kinda fast, but with Evasion it's not an issue. Keep your DD-face on. Technically wasn't a solo, because there was a WHM there triggering Blue for his cape, but it wouldn't be any issue at all to solo this guy. (1/1 on Cape and Abyssite) He has quite a bit of HP, and supplements it with 3k Wild Carrots, but it's still going to be a <10 minute fight.
Keesha - DNC/NIN - Easy as crap. Biggest danger is Vacant Gaze, which will dispel all your stuff including shadows. I suppose you could probably turn and avoid it, but I didn't bother. His healing move is also Erasega, not that it matters for us. Saber Dance, Haste Samba, kill him quickly. He doesn't have much HP, ~20% in a self-skillchain again.
Ovni - Not a solo (yet) - For those who don't know, this NM uses Invincible at regular intervals and gains ~-10% damage taken per invincible. So this needs to be a fast fight. Surviving/tanking him isn't the issue, doing enough damage is. You have to balance Evasion with Haste and Attack, keep up Haste Samba, etc. On my last solo attempt (unprepared) I took him to 81% by his second Invincible and called in the troops for the kill (Atma, no good items). I'm trying to figure out how I can kill him. I know that I could take him to at least 70% by his second Invincible if I used temp items/etc, but I'm not sure that'd be enough.
General DNC soloing for Abyssea:
1) The benefit of soloing things on DNC/NIN over RDM/NIN are:
* You can solo multiple enemies in a row very quickly. Most DNC solos in Abyssea are in the 10 minute range tops. RDM can solo one or two quickly using Chainspell, but then they fall behind. Chocobo Jig doesn't hurt either.
* More efficient damage for farming NQ mobs for pop items or what-have-you
* (the big one) Access to 4 Blue !! proccing Weaponskills. Shadowstitch, Dancing Edge, Shark Bite, and Evisceration. RDM gets two (Savage and Evisceration) and only one will be able proc at any given time. So you play much better odds when you do tip 2 using DNC.
2) In order to use the above tip to maximum effect, it is best to pull monsters at 6:00 to a Conflux. Use your 4 WSs ASAP, if Blue then kill, No Blue -> disengage, Conflux to 1, Conflux back, reclaim, Use the 4 WSs... etc. When it gets to 14, just kill the monster even if you haven't procced Blue yet. I've gotten a lot of Blue procs this way, and can generally repeat the cycle 4-5 times before it hits 14. This gives you about an 80% chance of proccing blue, assuming no one takes the NM. If you want Red !!, you can do this same strategy except it doesn't matter what the time of day is. Just keep Engaging, Energy Drain -> Cyclone -> Conflux out and back.
I'm considering not updating this post with specific uninteresting solos anymore. Basic story is, if it doesn't regularly wipe shadows with AoEs that are unstunnable or faster than Violent Flourish's recast then DNC can solo it. The extra 40 Evasion we get from Cruor buffs + GH even lets us full-time Haste gear.
