"We want to bring out the unique characteristics inherent in each automaton via creative new attachments as well as abilities that extract the potential latent in each frame.

Example Adjustments

* Introducing an assortment of new attachments.
* Adding an ability that restores an automaton's HP."

I just had a seizure.

What do you guys think these OTHER new attachments will be/do?
And what of this restore hp ability?

New attachments:

Upgrades to current Basics ones from high end group content, rare / ex:
Stuff like loudspeaker III, tension spring III, Armor plate III

Advanced forms of current ones/new ones from HNM type mobs (also rare/ex):
Turbo charger II, drum magazine II (no -acc, even more -dly). icemaker II

New ones from void watch (most likely tradeable):
most likely unique ones like weve been getting recently where the pokemon player in us wants to catch em all but can figure out why

Are those opinions or did you find some page?
because most of those seem like theyd be useless since they will take MORE slots.

One direction that that could be shooting for is turning Valoredge into a true "tank" puppet. Assuming they've realized that Sharpshot can handle the physical DD role, they could be trying to add more tools to let us use Valoredge as an actual tank.

They've finally let Valor use the shield for shield blocking, so that's one step towards it. A second healing ability would compliment it as well, I'm thinking a "Repair" type ability with no regen, but on a shorter timer, hopefully not using a consumable, but either way... They could also make attachments that further the idea as well, maybe another enmity attachment, stuff in that vein... and more Stout Servant would be nice too...

There's also evidence that they're trying to match the puppet frames to their PC-job counterparts further and further. We recently got a "Barrage" attachment, and Cure Potency as well, so something like s "Elemental Celerity" attachment for Spiritreaver isn't out of the question. I'd also like to see a Mana Booster 2, and a new Drum Magazine (without the accuracy down, of course.)

And let's not forget the most important attachment prospect of all... Tactical Processor 2. We need even faster "decision-making time."

Mine where just guesses.

For the most part pup attachments have always been available at level 1 and have been all tradeable. The only way to make it so some pups are better then others, is to introduce attachments that either have a required level or are rare/ex from group/hnm content.

Turbo Charger 2 is a prime example, if it had a required level of 99 to equip on the pet, was rare/ex, and came from HNM mobs, i think it would be totally balanced if it was double the current turbo chargers haste values.

Well currently its 5/15/20/25

so something like 10/30/40/50 for a level 99 required attachment from an HNM drop seems fair. It would clearly make the pups who raid/do end game content stand out from regular pups who just buy all the attachments.

for some reason i keep picturing the new "repair" ability being something akin to "the puppetmaster gradually looses HP and the automaton regens twice as much" kinda like a weird shared HP sublimation, i hope im wrong. :/

rare/ex attachments, sounds good! as it stands it appears that ill have to spam ob, im not paying over a million for an attachment lol, greedy people.

Well, I have an attachment idea (less of a suggestion, more of a prediction). Either earth or fire based, reduces enmity loss from taking damage. They're giving pld enough abilities/gear with that effect, I forsee them giving automatons likewise.

Also, while I doubt this is what they have in mind, I have this idea that I think would be an interesting direction to take pup in. Specifically, a sort of scavenge-like ability that gives temp items. The most basic version would be on use gives a stack of temporary 'Deluxe Automaton Oil'. This would help with out inventory issues and I think not be too imbalanced at all.

This idea though, I feel could be expanded upon. See, there are two things I think of when I think pup: A sort of mime/trickster class, obviously, but it also makes me think of a class almost sort of like chemist from ff tactics. And further abilities to grant temporary items might possibly grant the job a sort of pseudo-minor support role. Not ever gonna happen, but I think it's an interesting idea, personally.

I wouldn't mind this sort of sublimation thing. If you're soloing you can self-heal it back, if you're in a group one regen will take care of it. It would also prevent the master being slept, without needing poison pots/food, while healing the puppet.

And, on that note, a poison gas attachment would be awesome. AoE 1hp/tic poison coming off the puppet that poisones ally and enemy alike. Would wipe sleep off the board for everyone!

I am hoping they add more attachments that not only upgrade what we have but also make each from more unique. One wonders about higher level attachments and their play on elemental capacity. Shield block and damage taken attachments would be nice for valor of course. I would also like to see one that guards against most status effects for the auto.

Hello Puppetmasters!

While the English Dev Tracker on the official forums is filled with discussion of Comet & Meteor, the Japanese Dev has been focused on PUP. This morning they made a post that contained the details of the attachment effects and the exact amounts per maneuver. I'm not sure if this is information is already well known, but I thought I'd share the link. I'm at work, so I can't translate it all now but I'd be happy to later today if the information is new and no one has beaten me to it.

The link is here and the maneuvers listed are for the fire-ice-wind-earth-lightning-water (in that order). Enjoy! (And I apoloize again if this is old news.)

Thanks for saving me the trouble! I don't know PUP well, so I wanted to double check wiki before I translated the abilities. Thanks :)

And the part at the top basically says that as mentioned in the Job Manifesto PUP is a highly versatile job that requires a lot of skill to operate the automation. You have to use the attachments as to not overload your pal but it is difficult to confirm the exact effects so he/she will provide you with some details now.

It's a pity that the most interesting attachments are left out, like Tatical Processor's effect, and Drum Magazine penalty on racc.

That said, it's awesome that they're finally spreading so specific information. most just confirms what we knew, but it's really nice to see they're willing to tell us the details.

Play around with this website.

translate.google.com

It's helped me a lot with English to Japanese translations. It isn't perfect but it gets the point across.

*NINJA EDIT* - I've made the post for you, here's the copy/pasted post.

Greetings from the Puppetmasters from North America!

My apologies for posting in English in the Japanese forums, but we found the information from Mocchi to be very interesting! However, we are still curious about the effects of the Tactical Processor. I will try to translate to the best of my ability utilizing translate.google.com to ask the question in Japanese.

I know its late on my part, but the jp already asked that.

They asked mocchi to list the effects off all attachments with specific emphasis given to attachments like the scanner, tactical processor etc.

i'm guessing mocchi left out those particular attachments probably because of the devs saying: "Tactical
Processor? we dont even know wtf it does! and we made the thing /dance4"

From the looks of it, they only listed attachments with easy to explain, functions.

Atk +20 25 30 35 is a lot easier then

Dustin you have it wrong, it decreases chance of overload by 1% and also decreases time between maneuvers by .0075 seconds.

"Decreases decision-making time"

Isn't it obvious? It decreases the automaton's decision-making time. Whereas normally the puppet sometimes has trouble making tough decisions, with the Tactical Processor he responds in record time.

Just the other day, my puppet and I went to the store and he immediately asked for plastic.
