I quit playing FFXI in August of 09 with a 72 Pup and all of the attachments at the time. Since then i tried to start playing in April, found my account was hacked, so went through the petition process, got my account back, but found my character stripped, on another server with a different name. I requested a game data recovery, (which terms of service states it takes 38 about 1 week), but currently i am still waiting for said game recovery, it will be almost three months since i requested the recovery without any news.
I went onto the chat and asked whats going on, and they say its still under investigation, but i can cancel it if i want. I am getting so sick of waiting i'm thinking of just screwing the data recovery and starting to play the character exactly how it was when i got it back, naked, except for the original 54 attachments. How important/hard is it to get money these days? Can a pup without any gil starting off in just af/with the expensive attachments be able to come back and get all the gear/important items i need. I heard you can get fairly good money in abyssea, but im not sure i could get any groups at level 72 with only AF, and i also don't know how the abyssea time thing works, because i will buy the collection as soon as i cancel the recovery.
So pretty much if i do cancel the recovery i will have to pay the $38 the guy who hacked my account built on my account, plus april-july's fees without being able to play at all. Or i can keep waiting for the recovery, which could finish next week, or take 3 more months, but they would refund me the $38.
After waiting for so long i wouldnt mind sucking up the $38, and i would also have to pay 25$ to transfer to my original server, or i could wait for the recovery and get the 4 million gil back i lost.
So wait and get 4 million gil back, or stop it and start naked, how hard is it to make that much money these days?
Sorry for the long post, i'm still debating over it in my head, i just really freaking miss skippy, and want to play around with all the cool new things pup has gotten in the past few years.
