Very nice! Didn't see these coming at all.

Very interested in all of them, especially the Vivi valve and Disruptor. Though i'm a bit wary of Percolator in regards to the effect it may have on players deciding to blast their way to 90 PUP. Will have to see how that fear plays out i guess.

Prolly not, but for me personally Klaxon is gonna have to be seriously strokin' the shield bashes if he wants me to set him up VE spec over SS spec.

Good stuff. Cant wait to see how they are once we get to testing them.
I hope theyre easily attainable. If we have to buy with IS again, I guess Ill need to do some farming in ToAU.

Well Even if they ARE IS bought, least they increased the amount of IS/EXP you get from besieged. (I'm not sure on the actual numbers yet, though...)

My bf just told me that he checked under all categories for Imperial Standing, where the other attachments come from and there is no sign that the new attachments come from this. I also randomly checked under Conquest Point items to no avail.

For some I guess this would be good news but looking at IS NPC they don't offer the new attatchments. The problem that may occur from that though is it's possible that they are new reward in the "loot adjustments" for voidwatch. At least atm that's the only other place I can consider those 4 new attachments coming from.

-Beaten by a minute but ya I do wonder where are going to come from. It would be nice if they offered a synthesis way to obtaing them. Or at least more options but as I see it now I'm guessing it's voidwatch.

Just checked Allied Note NPC in Bastok - not offering them as a reward, checked up to Medal of Altana.

*Really* hope it isn't voidwatch, can't say I enjoy it all that much. >.<

I think VE may have gotten a ninja-buff in this update, too, allowing it to shield block at all. Or maybe it need this attachment to do so. Still, potentially HUGE buff to VE tanking.

Anyone else notice the irony of naming the Cure Potency attachment "Vivi Valve"?

All 4 of these attachments will certainly find their way into Centurion's ******* soon enough, though Dispel could have just been added to Stormwaker's spellbook.

Decided to check if the fix to the moogle treasure thing fixed the box rate in Zeruhn Mines (I do seem to be getting more btw), just got a Disruptor.

Awesome, that's what i'm talking about!

May take me some time to get all four, but at least SE didn't hide this set behind some ridiculous event that it would take an act of god to get ppl to do. I can work at it at my own pace and if i decide to just buy from AH after a while, the prices won't be too steep.

It is Latin for I live (or alive), which is why the Vivi in FFIX had the name, because he was alive and not a doll/puppet.

Win. i was expecting this update way more for my SAM but SE just gave more reasons to keep playing my puppetmaster, wich is always good.

i cant wait to get my hands on this attachments, and to try besieged and campaign, i mean its nice to be able to do other stuff for exp and other goodies than omfgabysseaallthetime.jpg :/

Those are some badass new attachments, definitely makes up for the relatively lackluster set last update.

Dispel is something I've been wanting for years, the cure potency attachment is pure win, shield block might make VE tanking more legit, and skillup rate is a fantastic situational utility attachment till you cap skills (even as someone who's capped on everything now, 95 and 99 cap are coming soon).

I'll give Pulling the Strings a shot too, have a key item on me... you never know.

The previous set of four did come from three different sources - brown treasure caskets, imperial standing, and Pulling the Strings. So I would not be surprised to see this set come from multiple sources too.

Let's hope! Looking at emergency maintenance now though :P

Not getting my hopes up THAT much XD But it would be nice.

Though it wouldn't totally shock me if one day they just made stealth AI changes (no attachment required) without telling anyone in the update notes.

Really? This wasnt needed, skilling up is so easy anyway, this is an attachment i wont get unless i stumble upon it

Vivi Valve I will kinda look for but dont need
Percolator I will never need or use cause automaton skilling is very easy anyway.

I wonder how much more kick / accuracy WSs will have on mobs greater than Even Match mobs now. I'm stuck in zeruhn since sunday and I can't leave until I have my ring and attatchment(s) ~!

Skilling up nowadays is certainly not 'easy'. Most jobs are taken 30 to 90 in a day or two. In the case of puppetmaster that leaves a whole lot of skilling to do. Now hth can be done in a jiffy, but the puppet skills slowly because of the AI.

Because the puppet doesn't cast or shoot non stop, it takes much longer to skill than a melee weapon. Heck I did 30 to 90 pup in a day and I bet I've spent 25 hours capping archery and another 25 getting magic to the 'Stone V' level. In that time I could have skilled every weapon warrior can equip from 0 to max. So for people who leveled PUP post abyssea the new attachment is very useful.

Of course the sentiment on job boards is to despise and belittle post abyssea leveled jobs as if not killing 999999 collibris somehow makes you a terrible player who is unable to understand that job. But the bottom line is that is how jobs are leveled now and skills for everyone lag behind. And other than parry/guard/etc I haven't found anything that skills slower than the puppet (and maybe not even parry/guard if you focus on supertanking chigoes). I can't wait to get my hands on this.

Judging from the last major update, they noted that:
"Additional equipment items obtainable with Imperial Standing have been added, along with new attachments obtainable as rewards for completing the ENM quest "Pulling the Strings."

However with this update it only mentions:
"Changes have been made to what spoils players may receive from riftworn pyxides upon defeating enemies."

While there was no mention of brown caskets I guess they wanted to keep that part a secret since even in the above they don't mention the new attachments would come from brown caskets just IS and Pulling the strings.

While I do hope there is a 3rd option it may be safe to say that the only two viable options for these attachments atm are from brown Caskets and Voidwatch, though if they do come from Pulling the strings that would be good.

I think the previous 4 attachments had a very small chance of spawning in any dungeon casket. I had a Galvanizer drop in Outer Horutoto Ruins.

I am missing some things in this update though:
* Heat Capacitor. Wasn't this supposed to be changed to NOT consume maneuvers? (Not that I mind the current situation that much... it cuts down on accidental Chimera Rippers :D)
* Mage frame WS. Something to replace the 0 damage Magic Mortar.

As far as the 0 dmg mage ws... its been like that forever and they havent announced a new ws for the mage frame yet.

Heat capacitator... yeah not sure. "The planned change to stop the "Heat Capacitor" attachment from erasing all Fire Maneuver effects has been postponed to a future update." Was the last we heard about it, and my guess is they forgot. Not suprising with our job.

For those that complain abyssea makes skilling hard..blah blah blah.. its simple.. GET OUT OF ABYSSEA. There is so much more out there. If you only level in abyssea you are gimp for a reason. I refuse to level any job that i will main job in abyssea. Cause it's just as easy to level outside and still do decent xp. Pup is an easy job to solo xp. I solo'd to 75. 76+ i skilled and leveled on NM's and a couple xp pt's and skilling was easy then too.

I'll put my gearsets and skill level up against yours any day of the week. Leveling your 15th job in abyssea because it is faster doesn't make you gimp....it makes you smart and efficient. Don't pretend that playing a game that requires fewer button push combination than working the drive thru at McDonalds takes skill to play well. And don't pretend that killing EP mobs in TaU zones somehow is more challenging or skill producing than punching robots in altep.

Sure skilling is 'easy', but it is time consuming. I'll wager that maxing magic/ranged will take me 5x the amount of time it took to level pup. So for people that leveled PUP the efficient way and not the slow way it is helpful.


edit: yep. according to your ffxiah profile we wear the exact same gear except I wear usu boots instead of +2 boots to tp in. No difference regardless of the leveling process.

Ive encountered far too many awesome Abyssea players to say that levelling only in Abbysea makes you gimp. Youre given 2 paths to XP in this game now once you hit 30: Abyssea blazing fast and normal. Regardless of the path you take, as long as you keep up with the job, make smart gear choices, keep yourself skilled, and clue in to whatever it is your supposed to be doing, youll be far from gimp.

For what its worth, there were plenty of gimp players around long before Abyssea was ever created. Abyssea might make it easier to be gimp but Id wager that the vast majority of players dont want to invest that time and that 12 bucks/month just to **** on their in game repuatation.

Inside Abyssea and out, PUP has always been a pain to skill up. With the news of this attachment and the translated forum posts about some kind of skill up food, it looks like SE finally noticed that we dont enjoy skilling up all that much. Good on them. Im thrilled.

To be honest you do see far far more super gimped players for lack of skills gear is easy capping all skills is work and a grind **** I was in a alliance and 3 BLMS could not get sleep to land on fing dusk lizards it was a wtf moment basically they had no elemental skill and no enfeebling skill and haven't taken the time to level that ****. To be fair it's not the same game any longer by a long shot people race jobs to 90 to be the favor of the month and then have little skill to back the job up many WARS at 90 never skilled up most all the weapons. I had many years as 75 war so capping everything was easy just to pass the time away in the old days when can you believe it it was hard to get a party on war lol....

It's moot point, whether it makes people gimp or not, people are gonna level with abyssea, and other people are gonna sh*t on them for it. Not the conversation we need to be having here. Any news regarding any of the other attachments being found? I haven't heard anything, personally. Considering running to Dangruf Wadi to see if I can get anything in caskets there, since we already know the Disruptor drpos in Zeruhn. While the previous ones did drop in caskets as well, from everything I've read it wasn't random, Zeruhn dropped galvanizer (got one there too) and now apparently disruptor.

Our task now, clearly, is to hunt in other zones, preferably ones our individual servers have kupowers for, and report back here what we get. Off to Dangruf Wadi and then maybe Gusgen Mines. IIRC my server has Bastok and Windurst Kupowers at present.

Finally, someone not joining in the massive prick waving contest this thread derailed into.
Cerberus has Windurst boxes so I'll try looking around those areas.

Does anyone know which zones the previous 4 attachments dropped in? If SE let Disruptor join the same zone as Galvanizer it's a safe bet that they let the other 3 attachments follow suite.

Edit: According to reports on FFXIAH regarding the other 3 items:

http://www.ffxiah.com/item/3309/barrage-turbine Dropped from Inner Horutoto, Gusgen, and Zeruhn
http://www.ffxiah.com/item/3311/galvanizer Dropped from Inner Horutoto and Zeruhn

All those mention Zeruhn Mines, I'm assuming it's because of the sheer traffic the area sees due to people wanting Prousse Ring that all 4 were discovered in Zeruhn, however it is likely all 4 have the same possible drop rates within each zone. Furthermore, none of the zones mentioned are "old" casket zones so assuming they share drop rates could spawn in any of the "new" casket zones containing equipment for 76+ players.

Confirmed Zones: Garlaige, Eldieme, Fei'Yin, Zeruhn, Inner Horutoto, Ordelle's

Potential Zones: Ranguemont Pass, Dangruf Wadi, Crawler's Nest, Toraimarai Canal, Bostaunieux Oubliette, Shakhrami, Outer Horutoto, King Ranperre's

Anyone else stoked about using Dispel when soloing with whm puppet?

I LOVE it when SE boosts our soloing ability.

IMPORTANT QUESTION: Can someone confirm or deny if dispel is a spell or a ja on a 3 minute recast timer or whater?

Word is someone found a Percolator in a Treasure Casket in Ordelle's Caves. Just further adding to my theory they each item can "possibly" drop in each of the "new" casket zones.

someone found percolator and dispell on ragnarok, but wants over 600k each and im not paying a penny over 200k for them cause they aint worth 1m for dispell or skill ups when im already capped.
