I just got my PUP to 30 yesterday however I realized I didn't ask for a upgrade at 20 (I did at 10) will I still be able to get all frame/head upgrades or will it be available to me at a different level, furthermore will I be able to leech the job and not have to worry about stopping at the designated levels to get my PUP upgrades?

You are correct, you can still get the frames/heads you just have to wait the slotted amount of time for each. Ps don't leach the job.

Well just so you know, to cap skills might take about as long as lvling the job without abyssea. So why not do them together?

Thing is, if you leech to 90:
1) It takes maybe 1 hour to go from 100 to 230 skill in melee, ranged, and magic (well 1 hr for melee/ranged 1 hr for magic)
2) If you already have atma, going from 230 to 360 is gonna take about a month but you can atleast be working on useful stuff like af3, empyerean weapons, camping the last few attachments

If you level the 'fair' way, it is gonna take 2-3 months to get to 75, even then Id be willing to bet your skills are still not caped (for ranged and melee at least) and then youll zoom straight to 90 and still have a month of skill caping to do.


So your looking at 1 month of skilling up vs 3 months of leveling and another month of skilling up.

Saying it shall take 4 months is a very gross overstatement. Without abyssea and the new exp cap, yOu could level a job 1-75 in less than a week, so double that, triple that at max, and that's about how long skillin should take, if your doing it right. If solo, and switching up the frames you WILL be capped.

Really think it depends on how high H2H and Evasion are really, as even a bad pup with /dnc can solo at least T's without the help of its auto at 90.

Leeching Pup is still a pretty poor idea, there is not any real way around that rather glaring conclusion, but doing it the tried and true way altogether seems to be pretty far from the truth. I mean, I skill up all the time but I did spend extended periods in Abyssea and it worked out well enough.

I didn't do {A} until I was about 15 under cap at 71, so no Tier III auto WS. It took me less than one week, if not about three or four days to reach 90. Just got String Shredder tonight, so that makes it about a month, of actively skilling up when I was playing and going 3/5 on Emp armor +1.

So while I'm not condoning leeching altogether, you would probably be better off leeching and skilling up proactively when not leeching, then you would leeching and doing it all at once. I think a happy medium of leeching to 30, stopping and skilling up to 20. Then leeching to fifty, stopping and skilling up to 40, and so on and so forth would be the perfect solution, at least until your skills are that of 75. Then doing whatever until you bump your head on cap.

Personally, I find this to be the best solution at 90. Is to just always garner your TE from a worm party, or a dom op party, whatever. It might not even be necessary to get the exp at that time, but merits are good for other jobs, and you get at least 5-10 skill levels on average per party. Its imperative to at least have Armor Piercer/ Cure V / Bone Crusher first to get the full effect but if you intend on doing some NM runs, or want to go ahead and get some Emp armor for whatever job, spend a few hours warming up and building time to cap then heading out.
