Hunting the new animatorFollow

Everyone on here seems to be focused on the new weaponskills and new attachments. The official forums seem to be content with qqing over burts. I propose we start an organized search for the new animator. So far we know there have been updates to the following:

Grounds of Valor
Dynamis
New treasure casket areas
ENM 60
Conquest point/Imperial standing/Allied notes (Confirmed by regavalt)
Voidwatch
New quests.
New kindred crest battlefields
Einherjar (Confirmed by spiritreaver)

I have tried the ENM 60 with only a tactical processor as a drop. However, this is obviously not a confirmation that its not there. I have checked Conquest points and Imperial standing. I have heard nothing new in allied notes, but I am not sure on that. Has anyone checked Ghatsad or Iruki-Waraki? How about trading them the old animator? Lets pull ourselves together and start checking these possibilities out.

Likely not quests, since no quest that sounded like it was related was uncovered in .DAT mining. I would be pretty surprised to see it in ENM too.

My money's on:
1. Voidwatch
2. Kindred Crest Battlefield NMs (should add that to the list)
3. New Dynamis pop NMs
4. New Treasure Caskets in Grounds of Valor zones

But yeah, I agree with the sentiment that it's good to go ahead and get looking. Probably will be uncovered soon enough regardless by others doing the new content, but doesn't hurt to keep an eye out.

Thanks for reminding me about the battlefields. I have been watching for any news from dynamis, nothing as of yet though.

Not on your list of things to check OP, but i did go check the Ein-w/e npc in Nashmau. Deluxe Animator didn't get added to reward list there and i did try trading my +1 to her-no effect on that front either.

Anyone tried flagging a quest with the Galka in the Puppetshop? I would have thought they would have expanded that story line to have him modify and increase the automaton capability long ago.

If you can get lvl 90 items im thinking its time to go farm those high end zones treasure chests since voidwaker seems like total crap. Heres the list from bg post if you guys want to start filling it in.

I figured the special item from each zone would be Ra/Ex in nature (which is why it's probably not listed as the Special Item, that and it can be obtained elsewhere).

I have a hunch that wherever you can find any of the following, you'll also find the deluxe animator:
Striker Sword - KCNM50 - Avian Apostates
Tefnut Wand
Fulcrum Pole
Tonatiuh Axe
Barbican Axe - KCNM50 - Shell Shocked
Cadushi Grip
Mantodea Harpe
Jing. Greatsword - KCNM50 - Last Orc-Shunned Hero
Percept Bow
Draca Couse - KCNM50 - Last Orc-Shunned Hero
Deluxe Animator

So far the only info I can find on their location is for the Draca Couse (KCNM50).

They might not all come from the same type / area but they were all the level 87 "Weapons" added in the update. They're all rare (and our animator is ra/ex, as are all animators).

Of course I could be way off (I'm just basing this off of the level after all), and it would suck a bit if it was a drop from one of these as you'd have to get it yourself with your own KC. Given its RA/EX tag it might turn up to be a "Special Item" from one of the chests.

barbican axe is from a bcnm - shell shocked
jing greatsword is from a bcnm 50 at horlais peak
draca is from the same one as jing
striker sword is from kcnm 50 avian apostates

OK I'm starting to dismiss my KCNM theory already.

Without the animator there are 5 KCNM50 and 10 Weapons marked as RA to choose from, although one of them is a grip.

Strictly thinking about it;

Its doubtful the animator is from a treasure casket simply because if its better then turbo/animator+1, and all you have to do is kill trash till it drops in a chest, id see a lot of *********

KCNM (3 or 6 person) would make sense, maybe from 'whom wilt thou call' simply because it requires more work/effort.

Voidwatch seems unlikely sense I have yet to see an actual drop from it, its all crafting stuff to make crafted armor.

Maybe it's not actually better than Animator+1. It wouldn't be totally shocking to me to see it just be DEX+4 (equal to +1, better than Turbo) and not have the Automaton HP/MP of +1, for instance.

I don't think it's unreasonable to think that it's POSSIBLE that they could just introduce some sort of sidegrade alternative to an existing item that comes from an event most people no longer do. Or maybe in classic S-E fashion, make it a situational piece where it's better in some ways than existing gear and worse in others (say, DEX+6 to the master, but no automaton stats).

I would hope that it's an actual improvement, and my personal expectation is that it PROBABLY will be a little better than the +1. But it wouldn't shock me if it's not really a big improvement over the +1, or even slightly worse. Especially if it ends up coming from a Treasure Casket reward that anyone can solo, giving players who missed out on Einherjar an opportunity to upgrade from the AF "weapon".

Don't trust description text on Animators. I thought we already knew based on the previous ones that the text is meaningless fluff that doesn't correspond to actual performance.

Turbo Animator: "An improved version of the animator. Transmits commands at a faster rate than the standard model."

Animator +1: "An improved version of the animator. Allows orders to be more directly relayed to the automaton."

And what we actually got was hidden master DEX, and some extra automaton HP/MP on the +1.

Yeah, and since the pattern has been just adding 2 dex mainly it wouldnt surprise me if the deluxe was the same as the animator +1 with two more DEX. An upgrade nonetheless.

I think Grounds of Valor and new treasure casket areas are out. GoV itself only gives currency/xp and GoV buffs. The gold caskets seem to drop the new attachments, but the droprate is VERY rare, and you need to do 48 hours of non-zoning GoV to get enough CasketSpawn+ prowess to see it drop since Mystery Box kupowers don't work in dungeons >_<

What makes even less sense is that the Cirque body sports juggling pins and throwing daggers... you'd think SE would've added those as animator ammo at least... (then it would make slightly more sense that animators cause TP loss...)


Now, it makes sense that players cannot equip an ammo weapon when there's a ranged weapon equipped, but animators and instruments are not weapons. (Well, TP loss on animators suggests otherwise, but you can still not /ra with an animator so it's a bug, not a weapon.)

SE really needs to overhaul the use of ranged and ammo slots.

Saw someone else mention it as well, but until I see a screenshot with chatlog and treasure I'm gonna be skeptical. It's a good candidate though. Of all the possible drop possibilities, Voidwatch makes the most sense.

Random question since I am not familar with voidwatcher yet.

1) As long as I bring a void stone, can i tag along with a group poping it for a chance at the animator?

2) Do I need to be on t3 for windi path or is just the stone enough as long as someone else pops it?

3) Can people give their treasure chest item to other people? Like it drops for a war in the alliance and he doesnt want it,can it be put in the loot pool for all or given to someone in any way?

Does anyone know if this means the items will float in limbo for 5minutes in each person's lootlist or it auto drops into their inventories? I'm not familiar with voidwatch so I'm not sure if that means its like opening your own chest in Woe where no one else is eligible for the items in it except you. That would mean you'd have to be participating in the event x.x and also get lucky on your drops right?

It's similar to WoE, each person examines the chest and each gets their own independent items in said chest.
The only way to be eligible to get loot from said chest is to expend a stone and partake in the Voidwatch.
If you aren't using a stone, then all you will receive is cruor, exp, and a count on your stratum abyssite.

So it's out there for the pup community, you must do both Virvatuli in West Sarutabaruta and Pancimanci in West Sarutabaruta (S).Then have your stratum abyssite checked, it'll upgrade to t2. From there you do the single VWNM Ogbunabali in Maze of Shakrami. After that single fight once again get your stratum abyssite examined, once more it'll change. But do we know which triggers and items to trade to boost Animator drop rate higher? I've not read much on how voidwatch works outside of progression

The trigger system is of yet, not fully understood. All that's known is that the triggers cycle after a set amount of time between about 5 different triggers, for ws, ability, and magic. So any set nm has about 15 total triggers. Cobalt and rubicund are the ones you really want to trade. *increases drop quality and quantity.

Well, well, well. Looks like it is indeed just DEX+6 and no automaton HP/MP/Combat Skill/Regain/etc. See this post at official PUP forums.

What do you know, Anza wasn't an idiot after all for suggesting the possibility of something other than PUP-cheerleader super-optimism. Guess I don't need to go too crazy about getting it to replace my +1, since it's not much of an upgrade, and arguably a worse choice than +1 depending on situation.

I really wish they would do away with the BS fluff text on them and just say

"animator" - allows any job to control a puppet
turbo animator - dex +2, pup only
animator +1 - dex +4, pet: hp/mp varies depending on frame
deluxe animator - dex +6, pup only

None of the animators affect maneuver recast time, or functionality of any attachment, stop bsing us around please.
