I've found that soloing tigers in Altep works very well. I use beyond+MM+ impregnable tower (for lack of a better alternative). With cirque farsetto+1, buffoons+1 and puppetry dastanas, I start stacking ice right after activate, after all 3 are up I blast a tiger with a bliz V which takes off about 75% then DAD and watch tiger die. On 2 separate subjects, with farsetto+1, buffoons, and dastanas, I DON'T overload, more testing needs to be done but I haven't overloaded since getting my farsetto+1. And the other separate subject is that this will work for just about every abyssea mob, but stick with this one because you can dominion right at spawn and also the op #5, which is tigers also drops cirque hand seals.

Soloing NMs have gotten a lot more viable as of late for PUPs, even just straight evasion tanking them or lowman if it's a little nasty.

Most regular mobs are pretty easy too

I would assume that farsetto +1 does the same thing as AF gloves/buffoons, in that it raises the amount of burden needed to overload by ~5. The handy thing is that it seems like it's enough to overpower the activate burden most of the time. What I wanna see is if Farsetto +2 does what every other AF3+2 does and -further- enhances it to double potency.

Jinte that was my thought exactly, if it follows current trends I should suspect that it does indeed, and in that case we just become less and less apt to overload.

Was in Abyssea - Tahrongi last night messing around, and to add a little update now that lv90 is here and people are getting more Atma...

Cuelebre: Stupidly easy solo with Spiritreaver tanking.
- Atma: Mounted Champion (Regen +20hp/tick, MM (for the Refresh and INT), Future Fabulous (MDB+ Superior)
- Attachments: Mana Jammer II, Condenser, Steam Jacket, 2x Loudspeakers, Ice Maker, Equalizer, Optical Fiber, other Dark/Light attachments to fill
- Gear: Whatever relevant pet stat pieces you have. I used 3% DT- Oberons, MAB/MAcc Mirke, Cirque+1 legs, Pet MAB+2 ear and MAB+1 back, and Pantin feet.
- Strategy: Nuke away. Aspir/Drain will keep your puppet easily high on HP/MP along with the Regen/Refresh from Atma. I was pretty much using a Water just for condenser and loading up on 3x Ice at will. Never in danger of death. Used a few Repairs but that was more being cautious and probably wasn't necessary. I don't even have BlizzV yet, so my puppet was using Fire/Aero V for nukes.
- Only downside is that he's a ***** to trigger red/blue !!! when soloing since he's always flying around and can't be meleed outside of the few times a fight he'll use Mighty Strikes (and the TP moves he does then are a bit dangerous plus are frequent enough to possibly ruin a clean WS attempt for !!!). I killed him twice for fun and hopes of the MNK necklace, no luck there but I did get the Auric Dagger. Too bad it's no use to me.

Gancanagh: Easy VE solo (IF you have a good Regen atma)
- Atma: Mounted Champion, RR, VV
- Attachments: Strobe, Armor Plates, Steam Jacket, Turbo Charger, Accelerator II, Inhibitor, Coiler, Dynamo, Auto Repair Kits, Tension Spring II, other stuff to fill
- Gear: 3% DT- Oberons, Pantin Body/Hands, Cirque+1 legs
- Strategy: Let the puppet tank, used a fairly random rotation of Fire/Earth/Wind/Dark, being careful to keep Dark up for lots of Cannibal Blade. Fire helped for TP gain (Inhibitor), damage (TS2), Provokes (Strobe). Used Tactical Switch to give puppet TP for more Cannibal Blade when possible. Used a couple repairs, but not a big deal. Can also Role Reversal to heal the puppet and then back off to get Regen from Mounted Champion. I generally stayed out of AoE range to keep my TP from the TP reset move, but by the end I was wading in and meleeing to speed things up. Get HP Cruor buff to prevent Max HP down.

As one of the most evasive jobs in the game, PUP can handle most stuff that can be evasion tanked, using Soulsoother and a decent evasion setup/atmas. I've personally taken down Heqet and Koios, and I'd wager stuff like Gieremund, Sirrush, Nonno, Gukumatz, Whiro, Armillaria, etc, etc... wouldn't be too tough either.

Not to mention, we can pull linky stuff like Whiro or Heqet without fear.

As long as the mob doesn't have any ridiculous TP moves, or devastating attacks, PUP with it's portable WHM should at least stand a decent shot.

Yeah, people do often discount PUP's evasion. With native skill + Evasion Bonus traits, PUP is second only to THF.

THF: A+ skill (361 cap), and Evasion Bonus V trait for +60 evasion
PUP: B skill (335 cap), and Evasion Bonus IV trait for +48 evasion
DNC: B+ skill (341 cap), and Evasion Bonus III for +35 evasion
NIN: A- skill (354 cap), but no traits (extra Utsusemi shadows from main job though)
MNK: B+ skill (341 cap), no traits, Dodge gives +30 (with AF) extra evasion for 2min on a 5min timer
SAM: B+ skill (341 cap), plus Seigan/Third Eye

90PUP/45NIN can solo Gaizkin
Blm Puppet: Tranq.,LSII,Ice Maker,Mana Channeler,Optic Fiber,Smokescreen,AcceleratorII

Using the above mentioned meathod.

Use your best evasion gear and keep utsusemi up.

Atmas: C&D, Mounted Champion, and Gnarled Horn

Things to note: Use DEA then Deactivate as soon as its done casting so the NM gets no TP return. Used Abyssal Blast on me for me to get it >.> Lucid Potion II then things were back to normal. Blizz 5 takes approx 5%-7% HP so it takes a while.

90PUP/45NIN can solo Gieremund
Whm Puppet: Inhibitor, Mana Booster, Damage Guage, Optic Fiber, Flashbulb, Mana Tank II

Keep your Whm puppet far enough not to get paralyzed. Equip your evasion set and keep at least 1 Light Maneuver up. Slow and steady will get you a win.

Atmas: C&D, Mounted Champion, and Gnarled Horn

Things to note: Time your ADD well not to get caught by paralyze. I used 2 Whm puppets MP pools due to the fact that RegenIII, Paralyna, and DiaII were prevalent with the occasional cure6. If your getting cured alot you might wana try back when you have better evasion equip/atmas.

90PUP/45RNG (lolwidescan) can solo Quetzalli
Valoredge: Attuner, Equalizer, Tension spring I/II, Turbo Charger, Armor Plate II, Hammermill, Target Marker, Stabilizer II, Mana Jammer II, Flash bulb, Optic fiber, Eraser

Valor solo'd this guy, I just saved tp for Shoulder Tackle to stun big spells. I had 5/5 AFv3+1 equiped as i was hunting for something else but decided to kill this since i saw it on WS. Use your Repairs and have a Dark Maneuver up at all times. Bene sucks as you might not kill fast enough, he used it 3 times on me at 10% HP. I don't recommend trying this without Burattinaios as the Cannibal Blades were allowing Valor to keep up with the dmg. I'm sure with more planning it would have been faster and more efficient.

Atmas: VV,Mounted Champion,RR

Things to note: Don't be afraid of using Role Reversal to fill Valor up as the Regen from Mounted Champion will get you back to decent HP by the time RR is up again.

I've tanked this guy several times on pup although I haven't tried I am confident I could solo him if I wanted to:

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Koghatu

Evasion build. healing frame. 2 eva atmas and RR. I don't have an eva H2H.

With this set up he barely hits you. Only ran into trouble when slowII aura put my utsusemi timers way to long. His triple TP moves can be worrysome but I often dodge 2 out of the 3 moves if not they barely did damage. Only one would do 1k to me. I can easily run out of range for at the very least the third TP move.

Pretty sure we are capped evasion with +80 from atma, 40 from traits, when you add on to our skill, and boosted agi from furtherance, so an evasion h2h would probably be wasted.

For the most part if the NM doesn't have movement speed+ and doesn't cast, we can kill it with spiritreaver. ^_^ Minikin, Ambition and Ultimate (or Beyond, or Baying moon, depending what you have) are pretty standard atmas for that.

Iron giants (well not sure about Misareaux since it's in so small area), Aggressor Antlion, Ayravata, Raskovnik, Chukwa, Flame Skimmer... hmm, can't really think of other things that you wouldn't want to just straight tank off the top of my head. Even some of those, like Ayravata, are debatable whether it's better to just straight tank it /nin, or kite with blm puppet.

I tried tanking it for a few seconds without my EVA build and it started ripping my face off. I think you at least need an eva build for this monster. Not a fantastic one but some at least. My eva build covers every slot but ranged/ammo, back and weapon.

You can solo kill Raskvonik without needing to tank. Charm is annoying but you can either kill it really quickly so it doesn't use it against you or have him charm you and hope it runs out quickly. It's not too hard otherwise though, thing doesn't hit too me too often with just Gnarled Horn. Shadows cover me timer to timer most of the time. Its only damage dealing move heals it and requires 3 shadows to avoid but it doesn't drain much at all even if all 3 hit you, more than enough for your Soulsoother to handle.

Took him down a few times yesterday. Used Razed Ruin, Sea Daughter, and Sand Emperor. Just stood there backwards until it started to cast, then turned and smashed it's face in. Soulsoother automaton to keep Slow, Paralyze, Blind, and Flash on the mob.

Very easy fight, assuming you don't get unlucky with casts. It's rather infuriating to see:

Mictlantecuhtli casts Sleepga II.
Mictlantecuhtli misses Kinetik.
Mictlantecuhtli misses Kinetik.
Mictlantecuhtli misses Kinetik.
Mictlantecuhtli misses Kinetik.

Mictlantecuhtli misses Kinetik.
Mictlantecuhtli misses Kinetik.
Mictlantecuhtli misses Kinetik.
Mictlantecuhtli misses Kinetik.
Mictlantecuhtli misses Kinetik.
Mictlantecuhtli starts casting Drain.
Kinetik takes 1949 damage.
Kinetik was defeated by Mictlantecuhtli.

But yeah... 6 kills, got my cuffs for my WHM.

You >might< be able to solo CC for some stones, sobek would probably be hard due to AOE spells and stuff, but you could just kite nuke CC down.

Haven't tried it myself, but took this off the Talk page from wiki. Anyone given it a go?
Quote:

Glavoid soloable with little difficulty by PUP90/NIN45 utilizing Burattinaios and RNG Automaton (WHM head) with Pet PDT-%/MDT-% gear. Strategy: Make sure Strobe/Auto-Repair Kit I & II/Steam Jacket/Mana Jammer I & II are equipped at the very least. Pop Glavoid put your pet on him and kite to Conflux 5 and let him go to work. I like to keep a light/wind/dark maneuver up, thought I do cycle in fire maneuver for hate keeping. Pretty much your only goal is to keep your pets HP locked in between 25% & 50% HP. This will make sense by understanding the atmas listed below. Things to Note:Glavoid absorbs physical damage when TPing so pull back your pet to prevent healing Glavoid. Also make sure to remove the diseased effect from your pet after Slaverous Gale, as it reduces his TP. Also when hate swaps at under 50% from 2hr use Ventriloquy to put him back on your pet or just switch to EVA set and tank him. Useful Atma: Atma of the Winged Gloom/Atma of the Ducal Guard/Atma of the Sea Daughter If you have any questions on details feel free to shoot me a tell in-game or via ffxiclopedia. ~Happy Soloing~ About a 40min fight! --NezhaOfFenrir 11:38, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

Glavoid turns to face the person with top hate, unlike minhocao, so dodging disgorge is difficult. The earth carol II comment needs to be removed due to the BRD AF3+2 set being nerfed/fixed. Gorge is AOE radial and the damage is spread like 1000 needles. Disgorge is a fan/cone in front of glavoid's face and the damage is spread like 1000 needles. The damage increases as its hp decreases. Stun resist isn't an issue if you're only stunning stonega IV and disgorge. Less people attacking is often better. Two DD tanks who know when to turn around and WS only during spellcasting do enough damage and help keep glavoid off the mages when hate gets reset.

Gnawtooth Gary is stupid easy solo now for anyone that still needs their feet +1'd. Sub nin and use Soulsoother and either an Eva build/DD atma or a DD build/Eva Atma, and a Refresh atma for your puppet, and then run him up the ramp behind his pop. if your puppet is around the bushes at the bottom (~15.1-16.0 if you have distance on), it'll be out of whirlclaws range. Save your TP for Shoulder Tackle to stop Wild Carrot, because he loves to spam that sh*t, especially when you're casting shadows. I personally like Minikin because the int boost makes Caroline's blind stupidly potent, and on top of our crazy evasion, it basically floors gary's hitrate down to 20%.

Btw, this same strat works on Keesha Poppo too. Get your puppet to ~15-16 and it'll be out of AoE range.
