Sharpshot Skills 65+Follow

I have soloed about 95% of my levels, I am now 65. I switch between the Sharpshot frame (which i sub WHM for) and the Stormwaker frame (with spiritreaver or Soulsoother head, depending on the level of the mob) which i sub /war with. skilling up the magic skill is easy when i sub /war because my auto constantly Cure V's me so it goes up. However when i sub whm with the sharpshot frame i have to fight weaker mobs or i cant keep up with healing myself with only having cure III. Is there a way to fight DC mobs - EM mobs subbing whm? or should i just go and fight pets?

Prolly not what you want to hear, but the only way i ever had consistent success skilling the SS was in a party. I know there are most likely those that did it solo, but i'm not one of them. Melee and magic were a sinch for me to top off on those rare occasions where i lvl'd in quick succession and skills got behind, but i could never get the hang of keeping both myself and Klaxon alive trying to skill ranged solo.

Now, you want to solo PUP, go for it. However, if SS's ranged is getting far behind, bite the bullet and build yourself a little pt where you can assure yourself of a nice chunk of time where SS is free to skillup safely. And it doesn't have to be a "traditional" pt or anything; just do a quick search and band together with a few like-minded pet jobs. Because i can almost promise you that after prolonged solo sessions, most of them will welcome any type of pt for a brief respite.

These are pretty good to skillup on, deploy then retrieve and get out of spellcasting range.
It's tedious but it's the best solo method i can think of.

Go to Castle Zvahl Bailey_S and skillup off the fortalices there. Just deploy sharpshot from a distance so that it will only shoot arrows, then proceed to afk for a long time until the fortalice is dead so you can move on to another one. Rinse and repeat until the puppet's ranged skills is capped.

Didn't they nerf this?

Fortilaces came out after that update and are not Campaign-related in the sense that they have tags. They are normal mobs that just happen to be used in a Campaign Op.

I'm curious why it hasn't been suggested to go /DNC instead of /WHM?

Kill a couple easy mobs to build TP and then find an EM and go to town on it. You'll keep threat if you start with Animated Flourish and I think Quickstep would also reduce Evasion in a Ranged Attack sense as well, giving your Auto more chance to hit.

Or, as someone said earlier, do it in a party. I'm sure there are a good number of ppl wanting to skillup after possibly level-syncing for awhile at your level. Shout for a skillup party in Whitegate or w/e and see what pops up. Then go out and fight Ts for easy skillups and some XP.

Very cool thanks I will have to check it out for my own skillups if the wiki reads true..

Notes:

* Guarded by various groups of monsters on the upper floors. Found throughout the Keep.
* Able to attack them for weapon skill levels, up to max level.
* Grants no EXP, has low evasion and performs no actions. Cannot be moved from position.
* Possesses rapid enmity decay.
* Takes enhanced magic damage, making it easy to nuke from afar.
* Destroying one is required for the Campaign Op: Bailey Borer

Just curios about the various groups of monsters lol I actually haven't been to the keep in the past heading up soon for fiat lux hopefully tho.

Hopefully they aren't guarded like the Archaic Mirrors. Are there any recommended Fortalices to skill at based on safe spots and mob pathing?

I can Vouch for the Fortalices being a good idea. You might wanna take off all the atk+ attachments from your auto though, as they only have about 7k hp and almost no defense. They also have a 50min respawn time.

Most of the fortalices in Baileys are safe to just sit and skill up on, mobs don't link to it as far as I can tell, but the ones in the keep aren't as safe, and I think I only found one that wasn't guarded at all.

Good luck!

I started skilling up on the Fortalices tonight (PUP66). The first 2 are at E-7/9 on the first map, no mobs around but there is an elemental spawn at each location so watch out if you have a mage sub. Got pretty good skill ups for myself, went from 208 to 214 H2H skill on one Fortalice. However my Sharpshot frame is slow to skill up, started at 179/227 ra skill and only got a .5 and a .1 on both Fortalices.

If you need to skill up a frame and H2H I recommend you choose one and focus on that, otherwise you'll kill it too fast. I'll and more locations as I find them.

Castle Zhavl Bailey
First Map:
E-7
E-9

Second Map:
H-7
H-9

Edit: Found out that if you put the puppet on one Fortalice and you go to another both will get skill ups, so you may want to consider that route if you need H2H skill as well.
