PUP NukingFollow

1) Equip condenser, tranquilizer, and nuking attachments.
2) Put up water, ice ice ice.
3) Deploy/retrieve.

6) Profit.

Deactivate/Activate: Although you CAN deactivate/activate to refill MP if your puppet is at 100%, it's a risk and resets your Activate timer - so it may be good to not do it if your puppet might get wiped out by a big AoE or a lousy tank, or if you're in something like a 30min event where you simply can't be puppetless for nearly 20min (Nyzul, Einherjar, a mission fight, etc). I personally tend to keep SR out for a while whenever possible. Economizer (especially 3x Dark Maneuver first then deploy) gives a lot of MP back. Mana Tanks are very nice too, especially since the March update buffed them big time. For SR, I nearly always equip both Mana Tanks, Economizer, and Mana Conserver.

Ventriloquy: Get it if you don't have it. Priceless with a heavy nuking automaton, particularly when you're trying to not deactivate too often. Dumping some of that hate onto yourself helps keep your puppet from having a mob turn to it and smack the puppet down fast. I even PUP/NIN blink tank for fun on random stuff (say, Limbus mobs) by opening with a 3x Ice nuke and using Vent to shift all that hate to me.

Gear: If you can use any pet MAB/MAcc gear, do it. Pantin Churidars and Pantin Babouches are the big ones, along with Pet Magic augmented Mirke Wardecors or Desultor Tassets. You can get pet MAB or MAcc augments on other stuff too though. I personally use a pet MAB+2 earring (from ACP key reward) and pet MAB+1 back (also from ACP key reward).

Merits: Automaton Magic Skill 5/5 is very important, to get access to Fire and Blizzard IV. Optimization (go for 5/5 there too) is next, and is very strong as well.

And a fun story from my Proto-Omega fight yesterday. My Spiritreaver alone parsed #1 DD in an 18/18 alliance. Beat out a SAM, a DRK, a RNG, and 4 BLMs. I didn't do anything special, just follow the formula Psion said.
