In lakshmi (server merge w/ Garuda btw) I've seen more pups in the various levels of colibris, 36-40, 54-58 more so than the other levels. Now, I know pup is a great job cuz I leveled it all the way to 75, but I don't actually remember ever inviting another pup, and a reason is because I might play pup generally well, and others are even better, but If Im looking into the search screen, theres a good chance that the pup lfp is someone I don't know, and therefore I don't know how well they play the job.
Imo, pup is a job that is extremely dependant on the player, which is true for all jobs, but a job like sam is kinda hard to mess up (believe me I've seen it done lolbandwagon ftw) where pup has more complications within itself. Knowing which maneuvers and attachments to use can purely dominate the job as well as understanding the workings of the Stormwaker and Soulsoother AI, and I, not as just another pup but as a player of many jobs, am not willing to take the chance to invite a pup.
I do realize the slight irrationality to this due to the fewer numbers of pups, but theres kinda a growing amount on my server....You don't know how many i see in campaign lol. Am I the onlyone thats kinda disgusted by the Growing number due to the h2h update? what I mean is that people playing just because the master gets an update, but I mean I guess its good for people to start leveling it to see the potential it has. Anyone else have an opinion on it?Thank you for listening to my rant :)
Even as a PUP, I don't invite PUPs that I haven't checked or haven't even met at all. You aren't alone in that mentality. However, there are people that would give Joe PUP a chance in a party. Find out that not only are they horribly geared, but they haven't a clue what attachments are for and assume maneuvers are useless. After an oh-so-shoddy performance, they vow never to invite another PUP again.
A note to Solo-onry PUPs:
I often tell people that if they're going to only be soloing on PUP, do just that and nothing else. Don't even think about accepting that party invite. You'll just ruin it for all the other PUPs out there that give a **** about the job. Really, look at BST. BST remains a solo job BECAUSE of people only gearing and knowning about solo environments being invited to parties.
Do both, and be prepared for both. If you're sitting around with capped magic skill and a very shoddy ranged and melee skill, YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG.
