If you arent going to get Rajas back then Lava/Kusha would be second best.

Aesir Mantle is the second best cape behind Pantin unless you luck out on a MKE mantle.

I'm very content with Rajas/Ulthalam's and have no intention on getting Lava/Kusha for PUP.

Tamas is an enormous waste for SMN. I'd toss that in a heartbeat for a Rajas even if you almost never use PUP or BST, just because it's that much better for melee jobs than Tamas is for SMN.

There's certainly no problem with using Lava/Kusha. Rajas + an Acc ring is arguably better, but still may not be better in all situations (note that prior to the March PUP H2H skill update, Lava/Kusha was a little more appealing to PUP due to our native accuracy deficiency). "Acc ring" here includes a lot of options: Toreador's, Ulthalam's, Iota (particularly if it brings you to an even total DEX, thus adding 5acc), Insect, Sniper's/+1, Woodsman.

Your call whether you like having Tamas more than Rajas. You're right though about the 27 day wait, if you've dropped a CoP ring more than once you need to wait to get a new one.


Hollow/Brutal is the best PUP pair. If you don't have Hollow, Aesir is a great second choice. Could also consider Diabolos's Earring for that second choice, and Fenrir's during the day trumps all Atk earrings (but you have to deal with remembering to use it during the day only).


As people have said, Pantin > Fidelity Mantle (with good augments, from MKE) > Aesir > Bellicose. The first two can be pretty hard to get.



Salvage gear - Um... 5/5 Usukane is certainly excellent, but it's pretty damn hard to get (and very expensive to obtain the head/body). Since you rely on getting notoriously stingy Salvage drops, you could do Salvage religiously multiple times a week for a year and still not get your drops, so I wouldn't exactly count on it.

In general, you'll be focusing on Acc and Haste for TP, macroing in appropriate WS gear. The puppet enhancing items are good - all of the relic set except the head are quite useful. Body/hands are solid TP pieces by themselves, and are even better with Sharpshot/Valoredge puppets. Legs/feet are staple pet nuking pieces (and legs are a great TP/WS piece). Other than the Pantin set and the mini-expansion rewards (described below), there aren't a ton of other must have pet stat pieces. Spurrer Beret and Herder's Subligar are the big ones.

PUP can make some excellent armor from the mini-expansion pieces too. I personally used my head/legs solely for the master (WS Anwig Salade, and Acc/Haste Desultor Tassets), but they do have pet stats available. Body is a great master TP/WS piece with Acc+10 augment alone (plus the base STR+5 DEX+5 stats), and pairing it with the Pet Magic or Acc augments is common.

I'm no SMN, but if what bpshil says is true, you might be able to get along without your Tamas on SMN, so the wait shouldn't matter. Besides, the wait is worth it! I full time Rajas and Ulthalam's also and love them both.

It's not as much about competition to get it, or having to burn a lot of points for it. All the dreamworld pieces are considered harder to come by than the rest, mainly because relic accessories only drop from specific monsters in the correct zone. All the other relic pieces can drop from just about any monster in the zone that it comes from.

On top of that, Dreamworld Dynamis runs don't last as long as the others, they're only 2 hours max, and to even get that long, you have to kill the boss, which takes a decent amount of time itself. After all that, you won't get to farm all of the mobs that you'd like, and thus might might not even get to farm the mob that drops the piece that you want.

I'm going to go slightly against the crowd here:

1 Rings:

Same as everyone else, Rajas is best but Kusha/Lava set is a fairly close second.

2: Earrings:

I'm going to say Aesir is better than Hallows, I don't know why Hallows' 3 accuracy is better than 7 attack and 3 conserve TP, unless your using the Hallows earring for other things on other jobs.

3: Back:

Aim for a Panin cape, it's just that good, but Aesir Mantle is definately the best alternative which doesn't require obsene luck or redoing a mini-expantion mission over and over again.

4: Salvage:

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, Legs and Feet are probably the only two peices which can't be trumpped for PUP. Head isn't as powerful as the S Beret. Hands aren't as strong as Panin. Body is up to you, I'd say it's bonus is relatively minor compared to the crap it requires to obtain (aka stick with Panin or Enkidu's).

Usu still makes good WS gear. If I hade the full set, I'd probably end up wearing that over pet gear for TPing in most cases just because the balance between master and pet damage is going to be so slanted in one direction.
