When fighting skeletons it's probably better to use Stormwaker or even Harlequin so you KNOW you'll get a cure when you need it. I used Stormwaker and I subbed whm so I could just status remove myself. Because yes, the ice spikes is maddening and can get you killed if Soothsayer has to spam paralyna.

I've been going /sch for the ones in U.Range, and against the Doom Mages, I typically stay in Dark Arts. I pull with Dispel, and I let Soulsoother heal me. I had no issues killing DCs or EMs like this. The only thing that could potentially suck is getting nuked down. As it stands, though, the Warriors are easiest. Light Arts, Addendum: White, for Blindna.

I've seen mention of several weapons so far, but what do you guys think about the Cat's Claws with DMG:+19, Additional Effect: Evasion Down+10? If that wouldn't be better than Wagh's, I wouldn't want to bother with that one, but those sound like a fairly strong contender. I'm not sure if the DMG:18, STR+4, Attack+12 ones be better, though. If the evasion down proc'd often, could benefit the whole party and give acc+10 essentially.

Is the DMG:+18 Attack+12 Cat's Claws, Wargfangs or Mantis the only H2H from magian's worth getting from a DD perspective?

The MAB, MACCU, Pet Accu and Pet Atk are all really good ones but it really matters how much you use which frame and if you're willing to sacrifice some of your power for the auto. I do think they're worth a look personally.

Personally, if you use SR often at all, the pet: m.acc +10 is a sound choice. In my gear right now, I have +14 puppet m.acc. If I can get up to +24 with these, it puts me that much closer to needing Tranquilizer on fewer things. That means that I can use all my Loudspeakers, which is far greater MAB than the +5 MAB Cat Claws. Of course, you could get both.

I cleared skeles in about 2 hours and got a nice chunk of xp. Find a friend who is 55-60 (60 will give you some TW skeles, so best to keep it lower) and sync in Xarcabard. Weather is almost always in effect. In fact, it only stopped being dark or ice weather once, which gave us time to kill the ghosts from page 1 FoV.

I even let another PUP join us (cuz he asked so nice) and go AFK for work so that he could at least get the kill credit for ones we killed near him.

I'm undecided about whether or not I want to continue with my Trial 83 plans though. I was in the tree for an hour, with no Thunder weather. I'm going to find a sync for Pashhow and see how that turns out. Has anyone had siginificant success with this Trial?

I'm thinking it might be better to switch to the INT path since there will likely be more and better DD weapons available as the expansions come out.

[ETA] If I hadn't finished skeles in Xarc, I was going to go check out Sacrarium. Lightning and Dark weather there, is pretty standard

So you are saying we should not bother to get even the pet MAB H2H? I'm sorry, but are you a PUP?

I spent a couple of hours 3 nights in a row in either Boyahda or Crawler's Nest for trial 116. I saw Water Weather long enough to kill 2 Crawlers so far in that time... The trial is going to take weeks.

There are only about 6-8 knight crawlers in CN so I would recommend processionares in Boyahda, especially in a duo/trio.

You do realize that there were folks here that argued against getting the Pet MAB/Maccu on the Wardecors, right?

Because there were other options on that body not just MAB/Macc? This is an item anyone can get and not give up the other choices. But, oh, those other folks that argue things, I understand.

I did the math for myself and the DPS on that configuration isn't bad, its not beating any of the better HTH weapons PUP can equip, but its not lightyears behind either. Also i've gotten more than a few sniggers from PUP friends when i told them this is the first weapon i'm planning on for PUP. But w/e

1) The base weapon is free

2) I can solo most of the path to this end

3) Ingame i am/was a big proponent of the Magnet Knife. Same added effect. Its like every now and then giving every melee on a mob a free acc boost.

4) Even though it will take time to do this(or any of the magian weapons) i'm getting light amount of limits.

I'm only doing the one weapon right now. I can always do another later, so why not?

I completed my trial in Rolanberry [S] on Worker Crawlers, right by Crawler Nest [S] zone. Rain was pretty stingy, but it took me a day and was able to get 4-12 kills per weather...not to mention if you get lucky and rain lasts a while you can cycle through the crawlers non-stop (about 8 spawns, 5min respawn). NPC on Attacker helps speed things up a bit, but I did have my NPC leave one time after only 20 kills (30 is my max).

I was down in Rolanberry [S] doing Amorph trial today and there was rain for most of the day during Iceday...so perhaps you might get luckier than I was when I was doing it.

Be sure to check npcs like this before heading out. They do have a use now, Finally.

This will be annoying, mostly because of the rarity of dark weather in general.

I timed it so that I fought on Darksday and went to Promy-Dem and just cleared the floor as PUP/DNC with RNG auto. Auto will end up tanking most of the time and makes pretty quick work of these mobs. With NPC you can get 100 mobs in maybe 80 minutes.

Shoggoth, what a mob... Spams both Hex Eye and Petro Gaze. It also has a large amount of Fast Cast, as well as the ability to Chainspell multiple times in a fight. It also has a tendency to use Sleepga II -> ga 3 -> Sleepga II -> ga 3 when under the influence of Chainspell.

Best advice is that of the wiki, have a properly geared RNG shadowbind it every time it pops Chainspell and run out of range. Keep your backs turned to it, and always have poison potions handy. As a PUP, so long as you remain away from the BLMs, you and your auto won't get caught in the crossfire.

I've been duoing with my husband who is also a PUP. It's been great until we hit Trial 145, kill 100 demons with pet kill shot. You only get credit if your automaton does the finishing kill. If your partner's pet kills it, he gets credit and you don't. Maybe this was obvious to others, but I thought as long as any pet killed it in the party it would count.

ive done shaggoth a couple times. people should /nin up and treat it as a kited fight. although he moves extremely fast, he casts high end spells alot which slow him down. the rng shadowbind thing is crap because you only get 1 shadowbind for 5 minutes, which lets you stop him for 2 rounds of chainspell. but what do you do when he gets to 20% and spams chainspell??

we had blm rdm and rng attacking him from a distance and taking turns running from him, very much like killing stones in dynamis

Edit: okay i wont say its crap. but dont rely on it to survive chainspell. during chainspell he seems to favor tier4 nukes soo.. /nin and run

Check out this thread about the Magmatic Eruca. Apparently, they don't count towards the trial for whatever reason.

There are a number of spots where you can do the crawlers in the weather.
You can level sync for most of them, but if you can't find any, try the area in front of Crawlers Nest (S). If there's no exp parties there (most of the time there isn't) you can get upwards to 8-10 worker crawlers in that area. The weather for there often has rainstorms, the worker crawlers are Easy Prey.
