How many Hazmats did you kill?Follow

#1 Feb 23 2010 at 8:17 PM Rating: Decent
Seriously, I think this is less than 5% drop rate.

I am sitting on 0/27 and counting.

I tried everything. Th4 TH2 TH1 noTH.

The thing that sucks the most is on the way to Hazmat, I saw hyakinthos and got the drop 1/1.

I hope I didn't ruin it for myself.

0/27 on a 5% drop rate isn't THAT unlikely... There's a 25% chance to not get a 5% drop rate item in 27 kills.

I went 1/8 on Hazmat, which seems fairly lucky by comparison.

It was somewhat bareable thanks to the potencial profit from farming in the citadel. I would kill pots, skellies, whatever else, for chest keys (among other things, such as pot shards and absorb scrolls) and pop chest open for between 8-12k a pop (or a pyro robe, which npcs for 8k or AHs for slightly more). It wasn't extremely lucrative, but it did help to keep me from feeling like I was completely wasting my efforts.

Most of the new NMs I've hunted meet with similiar drop rates; 1/7 on Poppet's Katars, 1/12 on Birdbanes, 0/4 on the ring set (I've given up on those ******* NMs though), and it will probably be similiar when I get around to camping Belledonna.

0/72 on Herder's subligar so far. That's supposedly a 9% drop rate. So yeah, cry me a river on drop rates.

Screenshot

Had to go to Jeuno just to empty out my inventory. 80/80 in both satchel and inventory. This is getting old.

Go figure.

1/6 myself, no TH for any kills - honestly, every time someone mentions having TH for any of these new NMs, they also mention a drop rate like 0/999 - I'd say just skip the TH and drop by for a kill every now and again.

Be sure and farm the various nearby valuable mobs - I ended up making some decent money.

Well after reading about this here (I didn't know much about any of these new NMs), I decided to try my luck. Being that my pup is only 59, and I generally use my THF to go after any NM or farming run, I did have TH3.. Got the boots on 2nd kill. Took 3.5 hours to get him to spawn, so I was hoping not to have wasted what precious sleep I could have gotten lol.

Now to tackle Lava/Kusha rings. Something tells me I won't be so lucky with those.

I assume the rings you mean are Lava's/Kusha's, but what belt are you looking for? As I mentioned in my earlier post, I don't know much about these new NMs, nor their drops. Planned on using Swift Belt, but if this other belt is worth it I might look into that too

I'm guessing he's talking about Virtuoso Belt

Never suggested that you was a bandwagoner, I just thought you meant that Spurrer Beret would be a cockblock due to all of the noobs camping it in anticipation for the PUPdate. Now that you've mentioned it though.. it is curious that PUP isn't in your sig lol. To be fiar though, who updates their sig in this day and age?

SPurrer Barretis a big enough ****-block all in itself without more people camping it. 2+ hours lotto spawns, most of which take well over the two hour mark on 16 minute re-spawns. I guess you could farm the quadavs for scrolls and the crawlers for silk in the meantime.

WIth more people trying for this, soloing it become dangerous, because the mob is VERY easy to gank if your soloing it. sh*t go's unclaimed and you just wasted 2+ hours of your life, god help you if you waited 8 hours like i did a few times. /grumpy.

Never killed Hazmat ._.;,*edit* because i use my AF+1 boots. The haste might be nice after the A skill pupdate, but im not math savy enough to crunch the numbers. ANybody know?
