New player, question about first job to choose for COR subFollow

I should note I am posting in this forum because I plan to play Corsair at my first main job (like their style I guess?)

I'm not sure what class to choose for my first basic job, with the thought to go to Corsair ASAP. During my trial I played Thief for the heck of it (don't really care for the idea of Thief too much, just that I read something on how it's easiest to finish the Corsair unlock quest with thief at lvl30 solo). From what I can gather, it sounds like Warrior and White Mage are the best subs for that class (out of the original 6 jobs).
What are the pros/cons of each? Or a better way to put it may be, what are each one useful for, or do you recommend a different job altogether?

I like the idea of corsair as I like support jobs, and it seems to have a small gambling aspect (which I wish more games had a gambler type class) so that's how I got to it; although I know I'll be solo'ing most of the leveling anyway so I need to take that into account.

Also bonus points for anyone that might be able to say, what jobs are CORs good subs for (if any) as a curiosity. Other jobs I'm interested to play in are Blue Mage, Rune Fencer, and other support classes.

I can't tell you much about what to sub with Cor - though for Wildfire damage/brewing people seem to use RDM I think... but for general use? I am not sure.

I can tell you Cor, like BRD is not a mainstream subjob for any job. (excepting BLM/BRD for abyssea proccing)

Thank you, I was just curious if anything uses COR as a sub since that's my first plan to get to 75/99. Thanks for the info.
Any ideas for my first job choice to get to 30? My thought right now is Warrior due to the fact I'll mostly be soloing and healers solo usually are tedious/long grind.

Sorry I missed this for so long, Cor isn't really a job I play so I don't haunt the forums except when I am really bored.

War is an AWESOME first job to take up to sub level. Tons of jobs use war as a sub, some not exclusively, but still, many offensive jobs can benefit from a war sub.

COR isn't used as a sub much. Rolls aren't very powerful when subbed and unless your job uses a gun you can't get anytihng out of QD.

As far as a subjob for COR: RDM, BLM, WAR, WHM, DNC are all pretty common.

RDM and BLM for Wildfire damage (BLU and SCH could also be used here) great for most VW stuff
WAR for Last Stand damage which is great for magic resistant mobs like Quilin
DNC for solo meleeing stuff with Exenterator (example Dynamis) or support on mobs that don't have uber AoE
WHM for pure support role

So if I were starting out I'd probably use RDM or WHM as first job then unlock COR.

I've played COR since the beginning and have used a ton of subs due to its versatility over the years. RNG, DNC, RDM, WAR, THF, NIN, WHM, BLM, BLU, SAM, SCH have all been used as subs at one time or another.

I think RNG THF sub COR if they need QD dmg on something with DT-.
