Ok, are these 2 Weapon Skills even close to each other? I understand Wild Fire is fire based hence all the VUlcan Staff equiped Cor's ( though I really think it spoils the whole pirate image, wish there was a good sword/dagger for cor to wear. But then again I suffered in pink armor on other jobs just for the stats.
I'm already working on 2 other Emp weapons so not really thrilled to consider starting a 3rd just for Wild Fire, if I can make a non Emp Magian Gun and go 5/5 Last Stand on it.
Basically both WS are useful, but unless mobs have special physical/magical resist, Last Stand is a bit stronger if done right.
Last Stand with enough attack buff can hit highest dmg in VW(like 3.4k~4.6k unless mob has PDT- like Rex), but really only good if it's short fight like VW when you get enough attack buffs and berserk last entire fight, plus you will have more time to get a better number for chaos. But you need BRD in pt, and /WAR, plus temp+RCB and mob can't have too high evasion/shadows for it to work well. And you have to keep rolling over and over in VW run during downtime for max chance for a No.11 chaos. It's also the most expensive to use, probably why a lot of ppl never bother to use it....this WS is tricky and costy to make it effective. This is also your "pirate image" WS, since you get fencer when you /WAR, you get to single wield a sagasinger or Nguul instead of Vulcan's when you spam Last Stand.
Wildfire is a no brainer VW WS. It doesn't require much specific pt setup/SJ setup to work well like last stand. It's almost always about 2k~2.5kish on most NM and 3k+ with WHM buffs(boost AGI and firestorm). Some mob it does slightly less dmg due to magic resist. But most of the NM it works decently. Cheaper than Last Stand too.
Exenterator is actually cheap and effective. Doesn't cost any money except food, in unbuffed situation it's actually fairly close to last stand and could beat WF, also it has a nice additional effect. I typically use this WS mainly with /DNC in something like ADL run when mobs mostly resists WF and Last Stand isn't that strong without buffs. I personally don't use it in VW though, I feel like melee -1 if I play this job like a melee in VW.....losing biggest advantage of able DD outside of AoE range, and doing subpar melee/WS dmg compare with other DDs. Dagger WS is usually weaker than ranged WS in events like VW anyways.
Requiescat, so far I haven't found any use for it except Pil's shield or fire elemental mobs.....which isn't needed anyways.
IMO, it's the best to get both as some WS may be stronger than another depending on situation. If you insist to use Last Stand and don't want to do Arma, make sure you have A LOT of money and right gears for it to be effective. /WAR, RCB, chaos roll, highest base dmg bullet, WS gorget/belt, and make sure you have a BRD to sing attack songs and it will pop out very nice numbers...a WS dmg+ magian gun can probably hit 3~4k+ in VW easily, although you gonna be fairly useless on mobs like Rex or Hahava type mob, or CoP T2 VW. Still recommended to do Arma considering it's the easiest empy and one of the most job changing one, you're losing a strong source of magical dmg without WF, and you may need it sometime.
