Switching Sushi for MeatFollow

Ahoy thar! Normally I give advice or feedback on this forum, but today I'm asking for some.

Well, basically it's just as the title says. I've been a longtime cor/rng and I almost always eat sushi for anything, even colibri at the risk of getting it stolen, and I'm pretty satisfied with my M. Kris + Martial Gun setup. But lately I've been trying to push my damage further by adding more STR and r.att, and I would like to swap out sushi for something with more punch, like coerl sub or yellow curry buns. The question is, how much r.acc do you think I need to add to be able to land Slug Shot on a consistent basis while eating meat? Basically, I want to boost my overall damage without missing too often.

Here's my current Slug Setup, with M. Kris, Martial Gun, and Steel Bullets as a given:
-Commodore Tricorne +1
-Qiqirn Collar
-Silver Fox Earring (considering Triumph Earring)
-Bushinomimi (just got last night!)
-Mirke Wardecors (+10 r.acc and r.att)
-Paluhwan hands (working on Crim. Finger Gauntlets)
-Garrulous Ring
-Ruby Ring
-Amemet Mantle +1
-Buccaneer's Belt
-Pahluwan pants, relic pants also available
-Corsair's Bottes (they'd be +1 but the cor item hasn't dropped in Temenos for over a goddamn year)

I'm considering options for MKE headpiece or swapping in something else for r.acc. Here's what I have available, beyond the Anwig option:
-Peacock Charm
-2 Behemoth Rings
-Vision Earring
-Beater's Earring
-slowly working on getting a Light Gorget
-Can or will be able to afford any of the Limbus backpieces

So, what do you think? Should I swap in some pieces, go for a lot of accuracy on Anwig, or would it not be worth it to sacrifice what I have on current setup? Any other suggestions, like Dusk legs, perhaps? I'd really appreciate the help.

If I'm not mistaken it takes like 405-410 ACC/RACC to cap on birds, no clue on Mamools :( With that in mind and under the assumption 200% Slugs have no -RACC penalty (What I've heard, never tested it.)

Base RACC + Merits: 259.4
/RNG: 22
Your Current Gear: 29.5
Total: 310.9

That leaves you short 100 RACC to cap on birds... If you changed A few things around I think you could get close to that in gear alone.

2 Behemoth Rings: +22 -1.5 = + 20.5
MKE Head with WSACC + RACC: +25
P. Charm +10 -4 = +6
Dusk Legs: +10 -4 = +6
C.F. Gauntlets: +10 -5 = +5

Counting AGI of an Elvaan (64?) this would cap your RACC without food, 410.4
If you're a mithra you'd have 415.9

First, what is your current slug shot acc? I think your current setup is already lacking a bit of RACC...or maybe mine has too much...

This question is irrelevant until you post your TP gear set also.

Increasing RATTK by 75 (yellow curry bun) would up damage by about 20% over sushi.

As the above poster wrote, it's about 407 acc required to cap against colibri. Sushi is 15% ACC; so without sushi you are sitting at about 353 melee acc (assuming you are capped with sushi).

This means your hit rate goes from 95% to 68%. That is a 39% REDUCTION in WS.

----

Assuming an 900 damage slug before, with yellow curry bun you get to 1080.

So in 1000 attack rounds:

Sushi: 1000 rounds x 1.9 attack (m.kris) * 95% hit rate = 1805 hits.

5.2 TP/hit = 9386 TP --> 93 WS

900 damage slug * 93 = 83,700 damage

Curry Bun: 1000 rounds x 1.9 attacks/round * 68% = 1292 hits.

5.2 TP/Hit = 6718 TP --> 67 WS

1080 damage slug * 67 = 72,360 damage

= 15% reduction in damage over capped melee ACC situation.

Again, as in other threads, it all comes down to melee acc. yes you can cap RACC nowadays against colibri. But ACC is harder to come by and is really the limiting factor on the meat or no meat option. Even with elite ACC gear (Toreadors, PCC, etc) its tough to get anough ACC to go without sushi.

Looking at a max ACC build:

Ohat / Ancient Torque / Hollow / Diabolos'
Skadi Cuirie / Enkidu's Mitts/ Toredor's / Toredor's
Culchu mantle/ Life Belt/ Oily Trousers / Comm. Bottes +1

If you had all this and a m.kris with 8 dagger merits:

Skill: 272
Dex : 96
Gear: 82

Total ACC: 394

= 89% hit rate

Just not worth it in my opinion to skip on the sushi.

Using the same gear and merit choices I'm getting 413.3 ACC...

Skill: 264.8
Gear: 82
/RNG: 22
Dex: 63+26 = 89/2 = 44.5
Total: 413.3

Looks like you missed the ACC bonus from /RNG

True, nice catch. So you can cap acc on birds without sushi...could even drop 5 ACC from the "max setup" maybe making it a little cheaper.

I still think /WAR with sushi and a little haste worked in will give better results.

I'd definitely switch to /WAR before I'd switch from sushi to meat.

Thanks for the great feedback, everyone, so far it's given me a lot to think about.

I didn't even think about the ACC drop on my melee setup, probably because I don't seem to have any problems there. I go for an acc/haste setup there and (with sushi) I get TP pretty quickly. With a current 15% haste setup and acc rings, PCC, and sushi, I get 100 TP in just over 27 seconds on average. I guess without sushi it might take a bit longer.

I should also mention that I'm a tarutaru, I have great AGI and DEX, but my STR is what's lacking, hence my desire to boost my damage. I might go ahead and bite the bullet on /war, based on the info in this post.

Any other feedback would be great, so please, if you have anything else to suggest, feel free!

That's crazy gear for the sole purpose of TP'ing on colibri without sushi.

Meriting isn't that important to me that I would even think about trying to get some of that stuff for COR. But it's nice to know it can be done. You min-max freaks have your work cut out for you.

Which was the whole point of the exercise. That much gil and effort to max melee acc on a merit mob is silly; especially when there are options that give similar (if not the same) performance with much less cost/effort.

Which, if true, puts you close to the acc cap. Dropping sushi would push that to about 40 seconds to get 100 TP.

/War with sushi is just the perfect medium imo, and I've felt this way ever since I got a sound understanding of the game mechanics years ago. Just enough Acc to maintain a full Haste TP, with /War providing pretty strong Att.. And for Slug, the sushi allows you to cap both raac and fSTR2 on the G.Colibri e.g. in this thread (with premier gear), something you have no chance of with meat. And if hit rate and fSTR2 both being capped weren't enough (it's already ridiculous), that's with pretty good WSC (AGI) and Store TP considerations taken care of.

Overall, there is really no weakness to it from a damage perspective, something you can't say of another SJ/food combination.
