Onetime's Quick Draw Calculator V1.0.2Follow

I have taken an idea I saw with VZX's Corsair WS calculator, and modified to calculate Quick Draw, and I thought I'd share it with people who want to get numbers on their Quick Draws, instead of having to calculate manually. I hope people get use from it, and also if anyone with more knowledge on Quick Draw wants to help me modify it, I would welcome that, as this is my first venture if creating a calculator for anything FFXI related.

Also, any feedback, positive or negative, is welcomed and appreciated. If I suck, tell me so! I just wanted to provide something to the Corsair Community. And of course, much thanks goes to VZX, whose WS Calculator was the inspiration for this little piece. So enjoy, and I hope you get as much use from it as I do.

Edit: I guess it was clickable after all...

Edit: Uploaded V 1.0.1: Fixed AF Hat in calculation, and Changed Nimue's Tights to MAB +4 instead of +3

Edit: Uploaded V1.0.2: Changed Day/Weather Bonuses to be added together instead of multiplied.

Very nice, Af Hat doesn't seem to change the damage. Other than that so far everything else looks to be working.

Edit: Nimue's Tights are MAB+4 not +3.

Only other thing its missing I believe is the obis?

SHOULD be an easy fix to include the hat by changing the formula in L-20 to read:
=(2*(B9+G32)*(1+(G30/100))*(L17))

Edit:
I'm still trying to figure out why I'm getting a 50dmg difference between formula and field though. Not sure what's causing it (Don't think its resists)

Upload V1.0.01 - Fixed MAB for Nimue's Tights, and fixed where I forgot to put the AF Hate into the final calculation. As for the Elemental Obis, I've never even sniffed sea, so if someone could give me info on how it directly affects QD damage I would toss this in, but reading the wiki, I've been led to believe it just guarantees you get 100% of the day/weather effects. But more information from someone who knows would definitely make this better. I will update this calculator as I learn more, and I will be adding items in a future update that have MAB as a latent effect (Diana Corona, Republic Circlet, etc.).

Glad to see people getting use from this!

Just that, but it's of course significant.

Seems safe to assume day + single weather = 20%, as the only option not stated there.

Thats what I thought it did Carrilei, but I wasn't positive as I haven't gotten any to test with yet (Gonna start working on Suirin Obi within the next week or two).

Semi off-topic, does anyone happen to have a link to VZX's most recent ranged ws calculators?

Not 100% sure of the link you mean, but http://www.freewebs.com/vzx-01/ is the only one I have. There's a ranged WS calculator link there, just don't know if it's as recent as you were saying.

I wanted to hold out until I got a Mog Satchel to knock out all the Obi's (as well as 8x staves), but I may bite the inventory bullet and deal with it now lol.

One question, so I can fix formula if need be. Are Day/Weather Bonuses added together or multiplied? I have them as multiplied so checking yes for day and single weather gives a combined 1.21 bonus (it's not hard to change if it's indeed added).

I would imagine they're added (for instance, the 10% simply being added to the 25% = 35% for double weather + day).. But I wouldn't take my logic as fact, I'm no magic guru =/

Yeah, upon reading the wiki, this seems to make the most sense, so I edited the calculator to reflect this, I assume that was causing a bit of discrepancy. As always, feel free to comment, and enjoy!

2 * (Gun base DMG + bullet base DMG)*(1+(MAB/100))*(staff bonus)*(Day/Weather Bonus)

AF Tricorne as 10 MaB
2 * (39 + 70) * (1 + (MaB/100)) * (1.00) * (1.00)
2 * (109) * (1.1)
218 * 1.1 = 239.8.

AF Tricorne as 10 base DMG
2 * (39 + 70 +10) * (1 + MaB/100)) * (1.00) * (1.00)
2 * (119) * (1.00) * (1.00) * (1.00)
2 * 119 = 238

I thought that the AF Tricorne QD Enhancement added 10 base damage? It seems you have it as +10 MaB? As you can see it's a very close result, but just thought I'd point it out.

Nice work though overall, ehalvorsen.

Edit: Hmm, it does come to 238 though, I assume you have it act like 10 DMG even though it's in the MaB column? Nevermind me then!

Thanks for the comments, I do have it set as 10 to Base DMG, although I probably should move it to prevent confusion. I guess I figured putting it after the final MAB calculation would suffice. I'm certain i will be making more changes in the near future (even if only aesthetic) so that everyone who uses Quick Draw (whether new or experienced), can get use of it. It's nothing compared to VZX's calculator, but that looks like it was a ton of work, and a lot of time.

I think the satchel's biggest impact on this game (you know, aside from the obvious 80 extra inventory) was the impact it had on the usability of obis. Prior to the satchel, I'd have said obis weren't worth having in many cases (and as such, I only owned 2.. ice and thunder for BLM).

The satchel allows you to have all the staves and obis with you at all times, write them into your macros full-time and yet pick exactly when you want to use them while retaining the ability to access them whenever. When the satchel came out, I picked up fire, wind and dark (again for BLM). When I finally realized ruins = double water weather duh, I picked up water (and earth cuz i use earth shot a lot) for COR.

Today did a bunch of Gotoh Za's (5 total) spanning earth, water and wind days. Simply swapped out my obi, cards and staves with the right day and landed nice QDs all event long. I keep ice n earth in my gobbiebag full time when Im trying for QD simply to land the para and slow boosts. Then pick the day of the week plus any matching weather and i'm set.

Armed gears tho need all 6 staves, all 6 obis, all 6 cards lol.

Also I'd add that picking up obis 2-3 at a time is good for your sanity lol. The drop rates are pretty bad on the NQ mobs. Tissue drops are horrible on almost everything except momma xzomits (20%).

Pro tip tho: On dolphins (which are easy to solo on THF, even the Om's), definitely fight the Om's. I just farmed up 14 dolphin organs for water n earth this week. The drop rate is 3x better on the Om's. Not only that, but I dinged parry 261 on them. Multi-tasking always makes boring sh*t less boring. Too bad it took me 10 organs to think of that >< lol. The last 4 were fun tho. The mere chance to skill parry made it better :P.

TDGSW you're on Pandy, no? Feel free to send me a tell if you wanna farm some organs =o

Guess it might not really be better than solo, but meh.

Testing has been done that shows the debuff boost aspect of QD cannot be resisted. Even on "missed" light and dark shots, bio and dia show the increase in dot and -att/def. I believe most of the testing was in ballista.

Yeah, to my knowledge that's how it works. I would wait for the RDM to Dia Sarameya then follow with light shot. Even though it will always "miss" because it can' sleep Sara, it will still influence the dia enfeeb.
