Well with all this extra storage SE has come out with and with my picking up a few new armor items, I've finally got to the point where I can no longer survive with the 6 macro slots allowed.

So its time to do a complete overhaul of my COR macros and start using the /macro set commands. Still kind of fuzzy on that whole process, so I was looking for advice as to how people handle it and have their macros set up.

I'm think having macro set 1 handle key rolls, double up, snake eye and fold, random deal
Macro set 2 handling rarer rolls
Macro set 3 and 4 handling gear swaps and ja's for RNG and WAR subs
Macro set 5 and six handling gear swaps and ja's for DNC and NIN subs
Macro set 7 and 8 handling gear swaps and spells for RDM and WHM subs
QD's fit into the sets 4, 6, 8.

Now is there a secret to making this not so clumsy with the /macro command? Pressing four buttons just to swing or WS is annoying after awhile as is switching amongst multiple sets.

So correct me if I'm wrong but a setup like this should work and move fairly smoothly

/equip Body
/equip Hands
/equip Waist
/equip Ring1
/equip Ring2
/macro set 4

Then in corresponding Alt or Ctrl spot

/equip Feet
/equip Head
/equip Neck
/equip Earring1
/ra <t>
/macro set 3

That would allow 9 slots of macro changes and get me back to my original macro set

If that's not how it works let me know.

That is how it works. Though SE will for whatever reason not listen to their players and improve or at least acknowledge that 6 lines are far too few, at least when the added the macro 'sets,' you don't have to move horizontally to hit more than one, you can just hit the same button on a different set without moving the selection.

It can be annoying having to press so many buttons just to perform one act, which is why I'm scaling back my events and playtime. It's also one of many reasons why I dislike marathon Dynamis, and why I'm hoping Walk of Echoes is an hour or less, if there is a timetable on it.

yeah i got it figured out pretty much.

It's only shoulder button -> A button -> shoulder button -> A button for me to fire off a WS or engage a mob. So its not as annoying as having to use the Dpad to move through the macros. Once i get used to it I'm sure it'll be fine.

But I agree that SE needs to have as many macro lines as there are equipment slots at a minimum. What 's the point of continually bringing out new gear when you don't make enough macro slots to rapidly equip it.
