I just dinged 75 last week, and now I need a crapload of merits for my COR (which has now become my favorite job in any situation.)
So the other day I got a merit party invite to replace a BRD who was in a 2 BRD party at Bhaflau Thickets via Nyzul Isle.
The guy tells me that the other BRD is the puller anyway, so I will just be expected to buff the DD's and help kill mobs. (I'm guessing he knew I might be reluctant to join if that were not the case for some reason.)
Well I get there, only to find out that the party is fighting Mamool at the top camp and not birds as I had assumed...
Pretty much immediately the entire party started to fall apart, with every member asking for different rolls... the RDM wanted me to do both Evoker's and Dancer's rolls, and the melees argued over whether they wanted Fighter's Roll, Samurai Roll, and Chaos Roll..
Within 5 minutes we had too many mobs for me to keep slept because I only have 2 quickdraws and the Mamool's had pets also, and the melee were subbing /SAM so they were taking so much damage that the RDM couldn't keep up with cures much less help sleep mobs, and the BRD somehow died and homepointed!
I tried to run away, but I died by the tunnel trying to get out ... the RDM runs right over my corpse and doesn't raise me! I sent him a /tell asking for a raise, he says "(I'm Sorry)(No more MP!)" and he just disbanded from the party.
Well at any rate my head was spinning and I started thinking I should have not considered this party since I am not coming as BRD, so don't expect me to be one.
I know this is not your typical experience, in my 5 merit parties so far, 4 of them were doing chain 100+ and everything was great... but this was just a complete mess and the ****-hurt will stay with me for awhile lol.
Anyways, my question to you all is, what do you do if/when you get a similar invitation to replace a BRD?
Do you take those invites to replace BRD's?
Do you stick to Bird parties only and not do Mamool or other camps? (I'm actually thinking of doing this)
Do you only go to new merit parties instead of replacing someone?
