Snaggletooth Peapuks in Boyadha Tree supposedly(F-9 on some map...)
I haven't tried them just yet so not sure what level they even are. Going to grab a friend and go try them out now though, hopefully get Heavy strike on the way.

Waugyl in Abyssea-Altepa might be the easiest choice just due to travel time and Atma etc.

What about behemoths? are there any mini versions?

Draylo on BG said the Behemoth from FoV elite training works(In Behemoth Dominion) but it has really low HP. Not sure of any mini versions anywhere else.

Kind of sucks to have one chance at it a day.
And so I don't have to edit above post, Snaggletooth Peapuks do work. They're IT at 91, pretty good eva and defense. The Third map is where Ancient Goobbue spawns btw, Mourning Crawlers(Not sure if they aggro) and some ViceCrabs(I think) around the spot. Can camp pretty safely in the tunnel leading to there.
I flat out missed Quadratic on my last one(No Flash on me or anything either...) Disseverment was barely breaking 200 as well. Kind of crappy mobs but should be an easy duo with any job. Not so sure if solo is possible.
Now I just need the exp to use these...

Yeah I forgot about that behemoth. I know there a mini adamantoisees in gustav. They were IT to my 90 Blu so I walked away.
#7kimjongil76, Posted: Sep 19 2011 at 9:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The turtles are in Tahlad Abby. At 90 they were DC. So 95 my guess is EP.

From another post.

Quote:

Only Harden Shell and Thunderbolt count as "HNM" spells unlocked through Unbridled Knowledge, which is why Peimei bolded those two specifically.

I'm assuming we do not have to go out and learn these two since once getting Unbridled Knowledge these would show up in the list. Or am I wrong?

You do need to learn the spell to use it with Unbridled Knowledge. Don't have Thunderbolt yet, but they all just show up at the very bottom of the list(no auto-sort for some reason).

Went 1/1 when they actually used the damn thing, really liked head butt and tortoise stomp a lot more.

The FoV Behemoth works. but he's a pain. He choses 2 TP moves per spawn. If you don't get Thunderbolt you are done for the day.

On the other hand he's an easy solo at 91. Just spam Dia while not engaged, and heal yourself.

You do still have to go out and learn them, but rather than equipping them to use them like normal spells, you "unlock" them with the job ability.

I haven't done any FoV NM pops before, but could you bring a friend along and each take a turn popping him for at least 2 chances per day?

Yes, or go in a pt of blue mage and pop LOTS of them back to back.

Lesse... hunting grounds lists:

Abyssea Tahrongi
Nyzul
Limbus NW
VoS
Ru'Aun Gardens

Nope... Still not seeing this mythical 'Tahlad Abby' zone.

On a side note, I am still one of a few thats foundthe BLM and whm spells and selling for 1.3m each, made over 13m so far as I refuse to give out information to people who mock or can't find out information on their own.

It's because you misspelled the zone the way you did. The zone is called Abyssea - Tahrongi, not Tahlad Abby. Everyone knew that Abyssea - Tahrongi would be an optimal choice to go after Harden Shell just because of how many adamantoise are in the zone.

As for the location of the Whm and Blm spells, it was speculated from the get go that they'd be drops from the new HKCNMs, Walk of Echoes, etc, so I wouldn't say that you're holding information back from people not willing to find it out for themselves, so much as just making money off people unable to or too lazy to go and acquire those spells the hard way.

If you have some blu friends you can spam the NM puk in Abyssea Altep. He spams White Wind and goes down easy. Just farm pops off the regular puks. As for thunderbolt, you can do FoV as was said or if you can wrangle a couple of friends you can do NW Apollyon. You can climb to the top floor pretty fast and there's 3 baby Behes and KB that all do Thunderbolt. Babies are held pretty easy. Gather TEs and you can hit the top floor with 40+ mins easy.

Has anyone actually learned Thunderbolt from the FoV behemoth? I don't doubt completely that it can, but I haven't seen it happen yet.

I fought him 12 times last night, saw Thunderbolt 3+ times on 9 of them, and never learned it. I then pulled out my trusty Beast Shank and fought an NQ Behemoth and learned it, but I'd think after 9 FoV versions using it multiple times, one of the three of us BLU should have seen it. I know it's possible that all three of us got lucky (and only two of us did with Mr. NQ) - that's why I'm asking for the evidence to show it can be learned.

This spell is very very strong in abyssea.

Managed to get a HP set together of 7300+ in abyssea. Tanking and main healing party was not an issue.

Didnt SS at the time but here's another just goofing around.

Whoa 7300 hp that's insane as hell to even think about hitting can you list the gear and atmas you are using???

I havent memorized alot of the names of equipment, so in such a case I'll list what it does.

Galka (no HP merits)
Blu/mnk
Food:Carbonara
Atma: Sanguine sycthe(+20%),1000 needles(+20%),Ebon hoof(30%)
***There is a couple HP atmas I dont have, one with 40% and another with 30%.
Ideally one would use the 40% one with a 30% one and MM.

Light staff/+40hp grip/+45hp ammo
no head/duelism collar(45hp)/Bloodgem earing(35hp)/Cassie(50hp)
Jurgu cloak? (150hp)/Torrid gages(100hp)/Meridian(90hp)/BombQueen(75hp)
Aenthorus mantle?(95hp)/+30 hp with +breath damage/Prince's slops/llwayd's clogs

Set spells traits: conserve MP,fast cast, auto refresh
other spells: Battery charge,White wind,Heat breath, cocoon and lots of HP spells

Could change the +30 hp belt to a +55 hp one, but none in stock.

I would just do Apollyon NW to get thunderbolt. I went w/ 3 BLUs and a dualbox WHM and it was a total joke. Killed every boss on the way up and had ~45 mins on the behemoth floor to Dia spam the babies. Dark Orb and Everyone's grudge raped the momma behemoth. One of our BLUs got 2200 Orb w/ Obi. Came out w/ the spell and ~ 140k in ABC's that sold overnight.

You can solo the Snaggletooth Peapuks if you have a really solid Eva set. I sat in the hallway leading to the area where they are and pulled with range. I stayed away from the crawlers so idk if they agro or not. Not the easiest fight but at no time was I ever in danger. Just don't hold back on the puks, try to kill them ASAP and rest in-between if need be. Good luck!

Actually, I'm pretty sure it would be easy to /bst and get white wind on the snaggletooth' also...

Eeh... sudden lunge makes them pretty tame. You just can't let them beat on you too much and wait for them to use it. Just kill them at normal speed and if they use it, cool, put on your gloves and finish it off. If it doesn't, oh well, pull another. It's a lot easier solo than magic hammer at lv75, I'll tell you that much.
