I am a vetren blu. My main has all the spells as I played blu since it came out. Awhile back my friend quit the game and I took over his account. He was a career mnk.
Anyway I thought it be great to dual box two blues for many NMs with our new two hour and even skill chain combos. So I did burn it in abby.
After abby I exited at lvl 86. Before entering my blu skill was 100. So I went around and got it around 220.
I had spells lvl 30 or less before burn. After that, the only two spells I gotten in 3 days were MP drainkiss and Mandeater bite. So I wondering if they changed the spell forumla on how you learn the spells, as its not like i learning higher lvl ones or even midlevel ones. I nt even got a nice CA spell yet, lol.
Cant get magic fruit, zmantle. 220 skill would be around lvl 70 lvl
Has anyone had issues farming spells recently?

Learning blue magicFollow
Thats odd I started levelling a few weeks back and I've had no trouble at all, I hit 75 last night and I'm now missing only a small handful of spells between 69-75, and two earlier ones I couldnt solo and plan to come back for.
I've levelled predominantly in Campaign since 55, and generally take time out every 5 levels to recap my blue magic skill and catch up on any spells I'm missing, since getting my AF gloves most of my spells have been learned 1/1 or 1/2 with the rare one that takes a little bit of grinding. The only two that caused me any real problems were blastbomb (almost a week on and off) and Frightful Roar (It took 2 hours before they even used the move, and several more before I learned it).
On another note 220 skill puts you between level 63 and 64 skill, not 70. Though that still should be more than enough to learn Magic Fruit and Zephyr mantle. Just for comparrison I was 1/1 Magic Fruit and 1/6 Zephyr Mantle (One of my slower ones).

Retired from FFXI ....but for how long this time?
it took me about 30 monkeys to learn magic fruit at level (with uncapped skill)... My advice is to tough it out. It just takes awhile sometimes.
