It's proven a bit *TOO* popular and we have had a small bandwidth issue on the host.

We hope to have that solved and the site back up by tomorrow sometime, perhaps Sunday at the worst.

The maps are missing. My backups of them were corrupted in an accident, so I have to wait until the site that the guide used to be on gets enough bandwith back so I can snag them off it (which should be after the month turns on Tuesday eve) Once I have them back I'll re-upload them quickly, and all will be well.

Sorry that its not all there. But this framework has all the basic info and just lacks the maps. And by weeks end things should back to normal. Things load a lot faster now to boot :-)

Hi guys i have something i need someone other than me to test..

I recently went hunting for Light of Penance in the jungles and came across something strange, well as you may or may may not know this is not their favorite spell to cast so was at it awhile and i got hit with alot of their other TP moves including words of bane. when i first got hit with it i was like oh great im cursed, but i still had like 200 mp and 630 hp so i said screw it this aint so bad and i continued killing, i noticed that after i killed the next tonberry it was gone, so i say it lasted about 3 or 4 minutes. It was going kinda slow so i decided to start using refueling on every fight, then i got hit with words of bane again this time it only lasted like 10 seconds! i was lol ok wtf stupid weak tonberry lol. but then it happened again and again and again with stoneskin without stoneskin with blink and without blink the only difference was that i always had refueling up. since i was spell hunting and broke i used no food. Now the only other thing i can think of was that because i had always called for help before killing and had been throat stabed several times maybe tonberry hate had something to do with how long words of bane lasted idk but i guess i wanted to know if anybody else knew if refueling or haste speeds up the duration of words of bane curse.

WOW. Very professionally done. Im using your guide for many other reasons besides getting BLU spells. Great Job. You could almost charge for a site like that.

Left Mind Blast alone, as I'm unsure if you mean to pull the Flayers to the leech area from the first Reef map, or if there are other flayers where you indicate. If that is the case, how many and where?

I want to thank everyone for information. With all your help slowly we will fill in less popular spell camps, and make the Hunting Grounds better!

Absolutely fantastic work.

one small nitpick however, the special note "You must face the target to have it take effect" regarding gaze attacks is not entirely correct.

You dont have to be facing the monster, the monster just has to be facing you. You can cast any spell facing any direction and it will always go toward the mob.

This is true when you SA a spell as well, you can be turned in any direction, as long as you're behind the mob.

Managed to get Cannonball solo and Amplification on the campsites posted there.

Both were a pain but manageable. The one on Amplification seems to be accurate although, the part of the Flan's being resistant to Physical might need some working on though. I found them not very resistant to them but they were close to par with the 500-600 dmg that my heater breath was doing to them. I'm speaking mainly about Disservament and Frenetic Rip that I managed to keep for the Acc. Bonus in meleeing. I suppose I wasn't paying much attention to my overal melee dmg but it was still decent enough.

Hope to solo Verticle Cleave soon. If I manage to do it without Exuviation like your posting states from another player, I'll tell you. :D

I just got Exuviation solo as 75 blu/bst. Inside the gate at J7 of Mt. Zhayolm there is a Wamoura spawn point. There is a path to the south that leads to a leadge and an open area with about 7 Magmatic Eruca’s. Charm a fly outside the gate and sick it on the Wamoura. Don’t worry too much about the links they are extremely slow plus when the fly dies they lose aggro. Make sure to use a silent oil before running down the south path because of the clots. Once you get the Wamoura to the Magmatic Eruca’s its easy. Just keep throwing mobs at it until it dies. A crawler will take 10-15% off the Wamoura. Keep Zephyr Mantle and Metallic Body up and you can survive a mischarm. This was far easier to solo than Mind Blast was.

You put alot of effort into this. I'll definitely be checking it as I level BLU, thank you!

Just a note, a 75 RDM solo'd Magic Hammer for me. A 75 BLM could probably solo them also.

We went to the camp you suggested in Mamook to find Poroggos (great directions).

As for the fight, my rdm friend would just sleep/nuke it. Thunder 3 was never resisted, and neither was sleep. They're also aspirable. Anyways, nuke/sleep/aspir/rest and repeat is a very safe way to kill them. Don't silence them. They'll start casting a spell as soon as they wake up, but you can sleep them before they get any dangerous spells off. This way, they won't be able to melee you either.

Keep doing this until they get close to 25% HP. Keep track of the number of nukes, as each nuke will give it 10% TP. When you know they'll go under 25% HP and get 100% TP, have the rdm or blm stand next to it and then nuke. They'll start to cast a spell, then use a WS. If it uses Frog Cheer, Magic Hammer, or Providence, continue sleep/nuking it until it dies. If they use Frog Song, they won't attack you, because you haven't been doing anything. Your friend will become charmed, the frog will despawn, and then your friend will uncharm. If it uses Providence, silena your friend, then sleep/nuke it.

I got magic hammer on the 3rd frog we fought. I don't recommend meleeing it if you're duoing it, as it will have many opportunities to charm you and despawn before it dies.

98/100 spells now, just need Mind Blast and Exuviation. I'll definately be using this guide when I go for those spells. =)

Exuviation today! And got it with a duo no less. =)

My 75 RDM friend and I decided to go after some Wamouras, and we learned that they're actually pretty easy!

Camp: We went to Mount Zhayolm, but there were blm's killing the wamoura princes at camp A and B so no wamouras were up. We ended up camping at the C camp, on the west side of the map. At first, we tried camping at C-7 because there were 3 wamoura there, but the princes kept getting in the way. There is a nice camp at the upper right part of C-6, next to the water. Nothing aggros there and you can pull the wamoura to the southeast and another one to the east.

Spells: Set both dispel spells, Frost Breath, sleep spells, magic fruit, and HP+ spells.
Also, I went /whm. At lvl 66 BLU/WHM I did not pull hate from the rdm, and I could still cast Erase and Stoneskin.

Fight: Like Magic Hammer, sleep/nuke the mob! Because they were lvls 80-82, my rdm friend used blizzard 3 only. You can help nuke too, with Frost Breath. Set a time to nuke, and start casting frost breath a vana-minute before that, because it has a longer cast time than blizzard. The wamouras resisted nukes sometimes, but if unresisted my frost breath (with taru HP) did 535 damage. Blizzard 3 did 525 damage. After that, sleep 2 it. The RDM can aspir it, which I recommend. ES + sleepga would steal about 100 MP.

Each Blizzard III and Frost Breath would give it 10% TP. Be sure to keep track of how much tp it has. If you know it'll get 100% TP or more, keep stoneskin and barfira up.

The weird thing was, the wamoura only did 3 different WS. These were Erosion Dust, Exuviation, and Erratic Flutter. It seemed to use Erosion Dust about 50% of the time, and Exuviation the other 50%. It only used Erratic Flutter twice. I'm guessing it didn't use the other 2 WS because we weren't in range. ^^. Note: the wamoura used Exuviation and cured 0 HP once. I don't think it has to have an enfeeb on it to use it, but we had para on it anyways. Just in case.

Back to the fight. If it didn't use Exuviation and had more than 25% HP, we'd keep sleep/nuking it. Once the wamoura reaches 25% or less, the RDM would gravity it. Then I'd Banish/Banish II/Banishga and my friend would cast stone/water. Each of these gives it 10% TP, so do this till it has 80 or 90% TP while the RDM runs around. Sleep it, buff, banish/stone it, and hope it uses Exuviation.

We only fought 7 Wamoura. Only the 1st wamoura didn't use exuviation, because we didn't feed it tp. After that we'd do the above strategy and it wouldn't take long for it to use Exuviation.

Anyways, hope this helps some future BLU's. You don't need an entire alliance of blu's to kill wamouras, like I previously thought, hehe. Good luck!

A new camp has been added for Spinal Cleave which is great for folks with a lot of high level help (as in a merit party worth of them) :)

Also minor changes to some spawn locations for other spells.

Hope that all of the Blues out there are learning spells on the first try!

Hello folks!

I have updated the Hunting grounds to now include the new camps for Radiant Breath, Jettaura, and Magic Hammer. Some details still need to be worked out regarding levels, but that is coming. I still need to locate all the Buggards in the Islet, so no update there yet.

I'm still working on getting a listing of all the TP moves that each of the new mobs use. Knowing what evil a mob can toss at us is a key feature to the Hunting grounds. I'm amazed at how little study has been done anyplace on the web on this.

Level verification is always difficult. I appreciate any work done there.

A high priority is finding out the exact conditions that allow Gnoles to use Asuran Claw. I've seen some posts that hint that they Gnoles only will stand upright when it's a full moon phase as listed by the ingame timer. Also do only the nasty VT Gnoles in Jugnar do this, or all of them? This spell may turn out to be a true pain to farm based on what we find. So we should use our month to find out as much as we can :-)

I am creating pages for the new mobs and spells, so if they are added they will go live very quickly after the update. Until the spells are added for sure I won't make them live though. I feel that would be confusing. I plan to give the new spells a slightly different background color to highlight them in the main list for ease in finding the new ones.

As always I appreciate the community support, I enjoy working on the guide and hearing from folks.

Hello folks.

Some minor updates to the pages (added new camp for feather tickle) and corrected a number of small typos and errors that people have pointed out.

Also, the basic frames, maps, and mob images for the six possible new WotG spells have been finished, and are just waiting for the update, so we can have the mp costs and levels for them. I should have all these pages ready to go as soon as the info arrives.

Information that is still needed:

Most important is Gnole Behavior. I need someone to confirm that they have seen a non-Lobison Gnole stand under the full moon. As I solo I'm not able to test them myself. Anyone up for an experiment next full moon? Getting a Battila one to stand would be good enough for proof in my book.

And of course we still need to pin exact levels of all the new mobs. Any info there is always welcome.

? Yes, I missed the comment about bringing people, but reading the quoted text, it says pets (wyverns). Doesn't sound like Solo to me ^_^ Unless you can call wyvern from sub now.

I was just giving my take on SMN sub and the steps I took. First time I ever got rated down for posting USEFUL information lol. If you were to say my post was common sense, you could go on to say that his guide was common sense also (it was for me and many others). That doesn't mean it isn't a useful and helpful compilation.

And by a token, my thoughts are also useful and informative. So uh.. you coulda just politely pointed out that I missed his suggestion to use pets instead of defaulting me. ^_^
