If I remember correctly, Carby was the main avatar. Because of the length of the battle, Carby mitts seem to be the answer for MP issues. Don't quote me on that, at the time I got this done, my Smn was only 32 (66 now). Which ever avatar the smns decide to use, just prepare for a lengthy battle.
Also, as far as BPs, use them at your own risk. When the Smns that helped me tried to use BPs, that action alone would be enough to steal hate, and they would take quite a beating sometimes.
For ways you can help if you decide to do so, I'll just repost my experience from the OP....
============================================================================
Body Slam - That's right, Body Slam. I'm a new proud owner of this spell at level 63 *flexes*, and my friend Ulicia level 67. Okay, here we go. First off, we knew we were going the Smn route. I also advise, whoever can spare it, come /Nin. Body Slam only takes down 2 shadows. If it can be spared, even the Smns can /Nin, and let the Blus heal (if they can trust them that well). Blus can definitely /Nin, thereby assuring there safety while zoning in and out (I'll explain later).....
Plan A, basically involving the Taru Smn (Kamehameha) soloing. That actually was working fine, but, any mistake at all, would prove fatal for the Smn. Lots of risk involved, but doable. Though we never actually killed any going this route, I know it can be done. Several attempts, kept getting it to about 10-15% HP, but, then something would happen and result in our loss, ;;.
Plan B, was pretty much like plan A, but, we had a Rng with us. Since camp is SO close to the zone (When you get to where the Dahaks are, you'll know where we camped, just inside the zone), the Rng decided to spam some Zerg dmg on the mob, then, just head for the zone. This sped the dmg up A LOT (Barrage 576dmg, Slugshot for 550dmg, then zone). Still, in the end, wasn't enough. A little closer this time, but, around 5-10% HP mark, turmoil ensued. Now, time to pull out the big guns. No more messing around now. I call in more Smn reinforcements. Two more show up (Arrode and Chronus). Now, there are 5 of us (The Mnk from earlier, changed to the current Rng we had, who needed to leave now). So now it's (Me 63Blu, Ulicia 67Blu, Kamehameha 75Smn, Arrode 75Smn, and Chronus 75Smn).
Plan C now, Kamehameha informed the other two Smns as what was to come. If you've never been here before, or fought these, you really don't know. It's not just your average shadow dragon fight. The first fight, still resulted in a loss, but, that was just because it was new to everyone, so, didn't know what all to do exactly. Ha ha, but that all changed (experience is sometimes the best teacher). Every fight after that one....OWNED! Those mobs CAN NOT mess with three 75 Smns. Especially good ones (Yeah, that was my shout out to you three, ^^). Now, it was just a matter of time in waiting to learn. I strongly advise Smns to kite kill. Every attempt at using BPs during the fight, proved VERY risky, and dangerous. If you really want to BP, then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, be very careful. The Smn grabs a lot of hate, just for using a BP, and sometimes proved fatal, or near fatal (Except for finishing blow BPs). Now that the strategy is down pact, here's the Blu's role in all this (Yes, you can help out):
Just be supportive. The Smns can heal themselves, but, they're doing so much as is, it wouldn't hurt to help out. Use the zerg strategy from before. Toss a couple Magic Fruits, and zone if you get hate. You can avoid hate by casting out of range. Also, if you want to do some dmg, after a few experiments, we found some spells that helped and performed well.
(Ulicia, 67Blu)
Frost Breath - Did GREAT dmg when unresisted. Average somewhere around 400-430dmg or so I believe.
1000 Needles - Leave this one alone.
I forget what all her other numbers did, because, eventually, she started casting Frost Breath only, and then healing and zoning with me.
(Nicest, 63Blu)
Mysterious Light - was well rejoiced from the Smns. It stuck every cast with no resists (not saying that it won't get resisted, just saying mine didn't).
Bad Breath - landed once, unresisted for 141dmg. Only around 30-50dmg every time there after. Some debuffs took place as well, although, I can't say which.
1000 Needles - Ummmm, leave that alone. 0% landed.
Magnetite Cloud - I just figured, might as well. It did less dmg than Mysterious Light, but, was still gravity effective.
Radiant Breath - Bascially, another breath spell. Doing dmg anyway possible, so 30-50dmg, meh, I'll take it, ^^.
Poison Breath - Did around 17dmg or so.
So, there you have it. My most recent farming adventure. I had lots of fun, and I'm VERY HAPPY to be amongst the very small community of Blus, with Body Slam pre-75. I'm not an elitist or anything like that, I just like being complete. So, if it's not your cup of tea, don't worry about it (I don't judge people like that). Have fun, and let me know if anyone else comes up with, or has different strategies for defeating the Dahaks in Mount Zhayolm.
Special special thanks, to Ulicia, Kamehameha, Arrode, and Chronus. Thanks for helping me out on such a dangerous task, with nothing but bragging rights (basically), as the reward, /kneel.
Blu OWNS!
===============================================================================
Take what you want from that, and see in what ways you can try to help them out. I know the gravity effects, will be more than useful. In my experience, once we got up to 3 Smns, it was a piece of cake for them, although, they still couldn's stand around and spam BPs though. Just proved too dangerous. They did get them in when they could though.
GL, hope you get to learn it. ^^
