Today i just got my Xsaeta III for Fenrir, now with Yama's +1 i was getting 2 mp/tic back from my setup. Seeing as that it is -7 to yama'+1 -6 i expected to get 3 mp/tick back, but still sitting at 2mp/tick. So my only thoughts are either my staff is broke which really don't think so or it some type of cap? I didnt see any

Minimum Avatar cost after -Perp gear is 1 MP/tick. That's why you aren't getting any more MP/tick back.

Not necessarily. Upgrading the staff gives you an additional -1 perp cost, which for now may not help you, but as you upgrade your equipment, there could be some pieces of gear that would boost your avatar's damage (some of the new Relic +2 gear for example) that you could keep on full time in place of gear that you normally would have to cover - perpetuation cost.

With a -7 staff, you need -7 from gear. Evoker's is usually a given, so you need -6 from visible slots. At that point, you can use AF2+2 body and AF3+2 feet for avatar melee, +2 refresh from AF3+2 head and +1 from trait or make an MKD hat with some -DT or Crit Rate or Haste or whatever you see fit (or Spurrer's). Or AF3+2 body for -4, Auger's for -1, Serpetes set for -1, and get +2 refresh from AF3+2 head, +1 from trait, and Regen from Serpentes and make a rather nice idle set. There's a couple other combos, but those stand out.

Or even better: Get that -6 perp from AF2+2 body & AF3+2 feet! Gets you an extra 6% crit rate over the AF3 body. This is the main reason I upgraded all my staves to -7.

That's why I like saying AF, Relic, and Empy armor. But everyone insists this is the standard way.
