I still don't get why SE had to make SMN the most confusing job around.
Conserve MP could have worked on everything that consumes MP, but they coded it to only work on things that count as spells. Then they added blood boon to give the same benefits, because they didn't code it right to begin with and changing "spell" to "MP cost" was too scary.
Then we had the fact that even though some BPs did magic damage, they couldn't MB. So later SE added a fix so magic BPs could MB also... instead of just having "magic damage can MB" as a rule.
Then we have the fact that wards had super short range. It made no sense. And after BRD got instruments and COR got a ring, SE finally decided to extend range to logical range.
And not to mention the fact that early BPs were 0.5-1.5 min long, but later ones were all 3 min because SE noticed 0.5-1.5 was too short. Did they go back and fix it? No, they added a new system that made skill add up to 1.5 minutes in duration, instead of plain changing the numbers.
I'd hate to look at how FFXI code actually looks like, when they keep adding same code, different function name all over.
