So Right now I am 0/32 on Bakka. This mob has stole my soul and ate all my stones and has to say the least been very frustrating. Usually on Smn I will use SA RR and MM for soloing and it is a god send let me tell you.If you solo alot and don't have 3 lunar abyssites get it! 3k dmg on nms is no joke and fun. I actually feel like a smn. Anyways to get back on track. I want the neck piece from back for my blm. Time and time again bakka has let me down.
I was with a friend that wanted me to help him on nin neck piece and we ran to bakka first. There was a mnk and rdm that was going to wipe to leje. We waited for it to happen and when it did we killed it and mantle dropped. We invited the Mnk back in to let him have since we just wanted the key item. He took it we said grats and he left then sent me a tell and asked me if I needed bakka. I said yeah I'm 0/31 on it. He replied send me an invite between 22:00 and 7:00 and he will trigger blue for me. We went to atthowa and farmed seals and never invited him.
It got me thinking though if he could do blunt what could I do? Well I dropped in and atma'd up and got RR MM and VV this time for regain. Claimed at 6 and bam! Blue! F&ck yeah! Got kill and DAMN! No drop!. DAMN 0/32
Point of the story. I know blue does alot for you and it does help on the drops. So if you are soloing on smn think about doing it this way. I didnt and it has cost me lots of time!

3rd Lunar + Blue !!.Follow
Proccing blue !! is very much worth it for a wide variety of NM's that are stingy with their drops. Some people in our LS have Abyssite of Discernment now, and we have been proccing blue on the Ironclad in Vunkerl. The Pluviales have started streaming in whereas previously people have been going 0/25.
So yes, it helps to make some MNK friends and claim in Blunt window. Or find some Slashing people with Abyssite of Discernment and claim in Slashing window. There are only 2-3 options for each weapon-type and someone can Discern your odds waaaaaaay up.
Abyssite of Discernment just changes your game and streamlines everything you do in Abyssea. There are lots of quest boss/Caturae pickup runs these days, so try to get in on them!

I agree, I also made the switch from SA to VV and I'm enjoying the regain a lot. Don't really miss the attack at all. Kegsay's testing showing that avatar attack is pretty worthless is truly holding water well through the age of atma.

Bakka is a really annoying mob to get blue !! on (although I suppose with discernment it's not QUITE as bad). Fortunately, imps are probably the easiest mob in Konschtat to farm en masse for TE and such, and Bakka repops so quickly now that it's actually rather annoying when you're just trying to kill NQ imps.
We'll it finally dropped. Thank god I had smn and could solo it. 1/35! Thank you SE for wasting my life providing me with an awsome challange! Didn't even proc blue lol.
