I've unlocked the SMN job a while back, and I've planned on taking it to 75 as well as another job I have in mind. But I'm currently taking a break and leveling my SMN. But I have my macros set up for the job, and I'm wondering how you fellow SMNs think of them. Currently, my SMN is only 28 I believe. And I have most of the spirits but Thunder, Light and Dark. As well as Ifrit, Titan, Shiva and Carbuncle. But anyways, here they are. Any suggestions made will be greatly appreciated for macro settings as I level.
ALT 1
/p Carbuncle
/ma "Carbuncle" <me>
/wait 10
/pet "Assault" <t>
ALT 2
/p Shiva
/ma "Shiva" <me>
/wait 10
/pet "Assault" <t>
ALT 3
/p Ifrit
/ma "Ifrit" <me>
/wait 10
/pet "Assault" <t>
ALT 4
/p Titan
/ma "Titan" <me>
/wait 10
/pet "Assault" <t>
ALT 9
/pet "Assault" <t>
ALT 0
/pet "Release" <me>
*Rest of the ALT macros are free. I plan on setting the Avatars in order of the days. But with Diabolos in, I may take Carbuncle out of the set.
As for CTRL macros, thats where I store in the Rage and Ward set.
CTRL 1: Debuff
/pet "Poison Nails" <t>
CTRL 2: Buff
/pet "Shining Ruby"
CTRL 3: Magic II
/pet "Blizzard II" <t>
/pet "Fire II" <t>
/pet "Stone II" <t>
/pet "Thunder II" <t>
/pet "Water II" <t>
/pet "Aero II" <t>
*seeing as how we SMNS know that the avatars only get Tier II and Tier IV spells. I set them in the set anyways, though I don't have them.
CTRL 4: Magic IV
/pet "Blizzard" IV" <t>
/pet "Fire IV" <t>
/pet "Stone IV" <t>
/pet "Thunder IV" <t>
/pet "Water IV" <t>
/pet "Aero IV" <t>
CTRL 5: Damage I
/pet "Axe Kick" <t>
/pet "Burning Strike" <t>
Those are my macro set ups. I will indeed add more as I obtain the Avatars, but I rather not do so right away when I do not have them. As I said before, any suggestions made will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

as a summoner myself ill give my advice on making SMN macros.
first and foremost, get rid of the "/p avatar name" before each macro. theres enough that flies by in the chat log, and needless spam just makes it harder. theres already a line that says "summoning avatar name" in yellow text (if you didn't change your font color).
also, get rid of the /assault in each of the summon macros. make a seperate macro for assault. there are times you do not want your avatar attacking. also, you will eventually notice that avatars melee'ing is a waste of MP unless you have almost all of the -perpetuation gear available. the best strategy for using an avatar is:
summon -> blood pact -> release -> rest -> repeat
your release macro is fine, however i also suggest you make a retreat macro. there are also times you want your avatar to follow you instead of trying to attack a mob or whatnot. or to get a mob away to a safer place ect.
now, in theory, your macros with all the spells in a sinle macro is nice, unless you feal like pressing a bunch of buttons to swap gear out i suggest making a macro for each spell seperate. what i do for my macro book btw, is use the first pallet for summoning avatars, this is my idle pallet. then the other 9 are used for each individual avatar.
for example, my wind blade macro looks like this:
swap tp BP timer gear
use wind blade
/wait 1
swap to magic acc/atck gear
/wait 4
swap to idle gear
with that setup for macros, i take advantage of reducing my blood pact timers, getting the max out of wind blade, and switch back into my normal idle gear, without having to time gear swaps in other macros.
also on a final note, try and make a good setup of macros now and not when you hit 75. re-making everything later from scratch is a nightmare. you should see my macros for SMN i did not have fun making those. they work effectively though.
almost forgot...my setup of macros only works on PC. if you want the ability to change multiple gear in a single macro line your going to need to be on PC with certain things. it doesn't work on ps2 or 360. if you are on those systems your stuck making a lot of macros to swap gear.
anyway, i hope my advice helps you. good luck with your SMN.
