They do look ok, in terms of the fact that they have separate macros for each avatar (who wouldn't), but the /wait 10 and then assault section is interesting. I personally wouldn't use them, because it might be used in dangerous situations where you don't want the avatar to attack. For example, if there is a slept mob and you are resummoning, you would want to use Retreat, and not Assault, so it won't attack and wake the mob.

I never thought about setting them in the order of the days, but I do not think it matters. Generally, once you decide a pattern, you will get used to it and you will just know where each avatar is.

The Tier II magic macro is good, I used that for a long while and then just fixed it to Tier IV. You can also make a macro for the non AoE bloodpacts in the same method, so it will function the same as the Tier Magic macro.

I am going to share the way I do my macros, only because I find them to be the best way to play smn for me. It might not suit your play style. It did take me a while to make these macros.

Edit: Just find a macro style that works for you, I am just giving mine as an example. Once you find one that works, you will get accustomed to it and you will be fine.

I have a whole book for smn.

The first palette is the basic default pallete which has macros for Blood Pacts and White Magic on the CTRL section and all the avatars on the ALT section. I am only going to list the important ones.

CTRL 2 - Assault
/echo <pet>, Assault <t>

CTRL 3 - Release
/echo <pet>, Release
/pet "Release" <me>
/macro set 1
/equip Main "Light Staff"

CTRL 4 - Retreat

I equip +summoning skill gear here, adjust as you have it.

On the Alt macro, there is a macro for each avatar and it equips the appropriate staff and for Carbuncle Carby Mitts. On each macro for each avatar, all it does is say:

/echo (Element) Set
/macro set #
/equip Main "Element Staff"

Each avatar has its own palette. On mine, Ramuh is ALT 5. When I press it, it equips my Thunder Staff and then switches to macro palette 5, which is dedicated to Ramuh. To actually Summon Ramuh, I press ALT 5 again (So i just press ALT 5 twice to summon), and it will summon. Now, my ALT macros are blank mostly, except that ALT 9 and 0 are resting gear macros. ALT 1 summons a Thunder Spirit for Elemental Siphon. The spirit is the appropriate one for each palette.

The CTRL macros are pretty much exactly the same. Only, instead of all the blood pacts listed in the macro, I just have avatar specific ones, including the lv 70 blood pacts. This way, I can still use my Regen Macros etc, but still be using all the correct blood pacts, without having to spam my chat log more with blood pacts that will not go off. When I release the avatar, it equips my Light Staff and sends me back to palette 1, where I can summon again if I need to.

Additionally, on each avatar specific palette, the ALT line is empty except for resting gear, the spirit, and the avatar macro, so you can customize other blood pacts and avatar specific spells or whatever else you need.

This is just a general layout of my macros, which I hope you might find useful. Sorry if it is a bit confusing.

Thank you danjayr, your suggestions have helped along with your macro set as an example. Theres just not a lot I can set in as a 28SMN. As well as the arrangment of the Avatars in the order of days, I agree, it doesn't matter. But I really appreciate the help you have given me again danjayr. As for you Blankyy, I can understand the reason why you would say to take "/p" out when I summon, as it can be annoying or interrupt a player set for a SC or MB in the event.

Speaking of macros, I've again become confused by them.

I set up a simple "defense" macro saying the following:

/ma stoneskin <me>
/ma utsusemi: ni <me>
/ma utsusemi: ichi <me>

With the idea that it will take whatever I have and use it. First it seemed to work great since it did use utsusemi when I tested NIN sub, but then when I went back to WHM sub I noticed it failed to cast stoneskin. I have no idea why it worked with row 2 and not row 1. Also not sure if I ever managed to try casting ni when timer wasn't up to see if ichi was cast.

I'm a bit reluctant to adding waits to something I want to cast instantly.

You should probably also tell them how to load them from server, or is that automatic?

Using windower, the cleanest way to write macros (without resorting to spellcast) is to bind keys from your summoning macro. This avoids the old technique of spamming 1 BP from all avatars in a given macro.

For example:

ALT-1:
/ma fenrir <me>
//bind !7 input /ja "Ecliptic Howl" <me>
//bind !8 input /ja "Ecliptic Growl" <me>
//bind !9 input /ja "Eclipse Bite" <t>

This will program your CTRL-7 -> CTRL-9 macros to fenrir-specific BPs any time you summon Fenrir. You can reprogram them for any other avatar from a simple in-game macro as well.

If you're willing to use spellcast, then you can play more fancy tricks (for example, Mellowy's macro problem is easily solved by using Autoexec and/or spellcast to re-bind the stoneskin/utsusemi macro whenever a new subjob is selected)... but basic windower binds is a quick & dirty way to write clean SMN macros.
