Q: DRG helm trick, used for SMN?Follow

I recently took DRG up to 75, having a discussion with someone about the helms they said DRG's macro in both af/af2 helms to get the potency and the higher % of cures from their pets because one starts at activation while the potency can be applied during his healing breath casting time.

So I was curious if SMN could do the same thing. Put -BP gear, then during charging put in smn skill or pet: gear to get the same thing. -BP delay to max without having to sacrifice.

I tried it with Ifrit's Warcry, and it seemed to of worked. But this comes in my question, my xbox before it kicked out on me was lagging, and I know that a lot of things that are eyeballed you see more of what you want rather than what is, so I do not have the PC version to back this up and if I'm wrong I am okay with that because that's a lot less macro'ing to do. So, what I'm curious is what I saw was true?

Has someone tried this and seen the same results or was I just going nuts? I checked under Advanced Macro's before posting and I didn't see something like this. So I hope that I'm not posting something that's already been done. I just need to get things clear here is all.

Your Blood Pact Delay reduction gear only needs to be on when you first trigger your Bloodpacts, and you can swap in any Smn magic skill or Avatar effect bonus gear (Avatar Acc, Avatar Att, etc), immediately after the trigger but before the Bloodpact goes off in order to get the effects of that gear as well. So to answer your question, yes, you can do the same thing.

So then..yay I wasn't nuts. I only had it done with Ifrit's Crimson Howl. But the way I have it set is that I have a macro to reset any -BP delay gear, then the pact macro, and that's pact, /wait, gear switching. Since some of the gear stays on like hands, I don't need to switch it out, but things like summoners / evokers, or af2 to jse / marduks..so the list isn't that long. I just keep hands in there incase carby mitts aren't there and I'm not up to nashira gages yet....yet.

Another cool trick I used when I was playing summoner was to use /macro and set/book commands to move around for gear swaps. Eventually with enough gear you don't have space for it all in one macro so I made mine like this:

Macro 1 (Switch into Bloodpact delay - gear)
Line1: /equip
Line2: /equip
line3: /equip
Line4: /equip
Line5: /macro set 2

Macro 2(Start BP and switch into best gear for that BP)
Line1:Bloodpact
Line2: /wait1
line3: /equip
Line4: /equip
Line5: /macro set 3

Macro 3
Line1: /equip
Line2: /equip
line3: /equip
Line4: /equip
Line5: /macro set 4

Macro 4 (Assuming thats all your gear swaps into gear for BPs now switch back into Perp cost - gear)
Line1: /equip
Line2: /equip
line3: /equip
Line4: /equip
Line5: /macro set 1

If they are placed directly under each other it creates a full circle for that bloodpact which is fairly useful. This trick can be used for Summoning avatars and switching to a macro set specific to it as well.

I don't have the luxery of using that, but it's always nice to give it to those who do ^^ , btw Manosuke, than you for that I completely forgot about the macro set switching..because on my other jobs there's really no big need for it. This makes things a LOT easier for me..again thanks!

As far as I know, all third party program discussion isn't allowed. Kind of unfortunate in my opinion.
