So, I have recently gotten a Fay Staff with +4 Magic Attack (I got very lucky and also got -3 Perp and -3 BP Delay)

Anyway I have noticed a significant increase (50-100) in dmg from both Wind Blade and Netherblast from just the +4 magic attack.

Do you guys notice a noticible differene I have always heard that smn merits are not that great, but I am thinking 5/5 magic attack would be worth it.

What is your experienc?

It's the animation. All Drakesbane does is poke a mob and make lights appear. Ukko's Fury smashes a hole through existence itself to damage an opponent.

From my experience, it's well worth the effort to do. Between 3 merits into Wind Blade/Heavenly Strike (have the other tier II's unlocked for specific elemental weaknesses/strengths), 5/5 Avatar Magic Attack merits, and a Pet: Magic Attack Bonus +4, my Wind Blades and Heavenly Strikes do around 890+ without any TP built up, and can easily break 1k+ if I let my avatar pound on the mob a bit beforehand.

MAB for pet is really worth it now. I did 5 on Wind Blade, got 2 MAB on Fay(want to try for better stats), plus ACP body's 7 Macc and MAB, and Wind Blade can do 1k on Jailer Faith, Fort etc. in sea without TP. More consistent damage than Claw (which can be as low as 200 or as high as close to 2k).

Sea is the playground for smn and blm. :)

PS: forgot to mention, I did 2 MAB on merits too. Rest went to physical long time ago.

I'm pretty sure someone has already looked up the MAB formula (like twice). I recall it wasn't THAT amazing actually.

It has been reported that each Avatar Magical Attack merit level adds roughly +1.44% damage to the group 2 merit blood pacts.

Not sure if it is up to date. And usually it is hard to tell if it was 1.4% for the 2 magic attack for 1 merit, or for each magic attack. Quote says merit, so would be 0.7% per attack, meaning the OP should be getting 4*0.7 = 2.8%. Which of course never will reach values like 50 damage unless they are doing 50*33 damage before bonus.
