Did SE change something about the mini tuneing fork warp to the crystals?
Cause i wanted to help out someone with Ramuh but i came on late so i wanted to warp directly there with the mini fork but the npc wouldnt do anything after tradeing.

Don't think they changed anything. Where you on SMN? And did you never do the level 20 battle?
To elaborate, once you complete the "Trial Size" (level 20) fights, the mini tuning fork can't be used to get a free teleport to the Cloisters. This has always been the case, and the people who use the free warp are ones that got avatars via the uncapped fights.

Thanks for the help, i always thought you could warp to the cloisters on smn with the mini-forks.

As long as you havent completed the 'Trial sized-Trial by <element>' quest.
If you beat the lv20cap Avatar fights you cant warp.
If you have never beat the lv20 cap fights and are on the SMN job you can warp to the Cloisters.

Is there any reason to hang on to the Mini Tuning Forks after you've beaten the avatar?

Not if you kill the lv20 Versions of the Avatar.
Not really if you havent killed the lv20 Versions. If for some reason you do want to warp out there on SMN (For missions/quests/help someone kill the Prime) you can just get a new Mini-fork anyway.
