Hello I am finally lv 75 summoner and this is my main job for every single thing in the game meaning all endgame activities missions etc. Now the merits are confusing to me. I hear people use 5/5 on accuracy and attack for physical, but now with the addition or buff to merit 2 lv 75 pacts is it wise to balance these things out? I was considering 3 physical attack 3 physical accuracy and then 2 magic attack/accuracy is this a good idea or is it better to specialize on something?

What about the unlock pacts at level 75? i would like to get them all to have a magic for almost every weakness but then they wont be powered up if i do 5/5? should i unlock them all, or just pick 2 and max them out? like Geocrush+ ramuh pact which give stun i think those 2 are the best just for the additional stun effect?

also magic increases our 2hr ability which can be used for missions etc, and nether blast which i love because it almost always hits like 95% accuracy on it.

P.S i know some of you will say my smn wont get invites for endgames etc but quite frankly smn its the only job i enjoy so i will use it for everything anyways why would i level anther job i don't like just to do stuff endgame ? havign a 75 smn its better than having nothign at all also. Anyways some tips info is extremely appreciated.

I don't want to be a jerk or anything, but you should have just posted again (and read) the merit thread that is just 6 threads down from this one you created. I'm sure most of us experienced summoners don't mind answering these merit type questions, but I personally get tired of typing the same advice in 3-4 different threads in the same week. Read the info several threads down from this one.

Don't worry about endgame. Dragoon and Summoner is a good set of jobs to start off doing endgame because you have a job you can take to melee oriented events and zergs(Einherjar, Sky, merits, dynamis, SCNM, salvage), and you have a job for the heavier HNM and magic weak stuff (wyrms, kings, ZNM, Sea).

Better than nothing, worse than pretty much all other players who have either another job or two jobs. Just don't expect to get into endgame without a very good contact with someone inside the LS.

thank you i saw the post and i have to say it wasn't too helpful but on sticky and according to other sources looks like 5/5 on physical looks like good choice and maybe 5/5 on titan and ramuh because i prefer stun>anything else

What exactly are you asking then? Because most of the merit threads pretty much have all the same info in them. Have you done any endgame yet? You can put your merits in really however you like now, but when you start getting endgame experience they are very likely to change.

as far as merit pacts, only Titan's Geocrush has stun. It depends if you want that stun or not. I removed my geocrush merits just because most HNM's we already have blms stunning and I don't want to build the monsters stun resists too fast. Its a great stun for mobs in dynamis though, really a time saver when it comes to stunning part of a mobs 2 hour or something.

I think the OP's post is because on most other jobs forums there are specific builds discussed. I am new to smn but I have no really seen anyone dig into specific builds on these forums. If you go to war or rdm you will see pages of 3/3/4 Zerk/Aggressor/DA vrs 5/5 Zerg Aggressor and don't get em started on rdm tier II. What I think the OP is lookign for is something like this.

From my VERY limited experience a really good end game build would be

5 Phys Acc, because merited BP are based on TP and helps with lvl 70 BP
5 Magic Attack because will really boost Diablos and merited BP

5/5 x2 of your choice of Merited BP simply because of the boost to tp for each one. Being that there is a 40% tp bonus you should be able to quickly hit 300.

Alternativly, you could focus on your lvl 70 BP and do 5 phy acc and 5 phy attack.

Hope that helps.

I would also really appreciate someone posting why they merited what they did and there results.

Thanks

1. 8/8 Summoning Magic
2. 8/8 MP

From there, it's up to you. My suggestion is to load up on Summoning Magic Skill for your Physical Bloodpacts, and that way you can consistantly land your Predator Claws and your Chaotic Strikes.

For Summoner job merits, I advocate fully meritting two categories rather than partially meritting multiple categories.

For Tier 1, I would recommend Physical Accuracy and Magical Attack. Physical Acc. for both your Physical BPs and also for your Avatar melee accuracy, which will help when you need your avatar to hold hate or build TP. Magical Attack to help boost the Tier II pacts that you end up unlocking.

As for Merit Pacts, this information has been stated many, many times. You need to decide which pacts will most benefit your situation. If you have a favorite avatar, one you use more than any other, unlock that one's Tier II. If you are in a linkshell that MBs many different mobs, go with either Shiva or Ramuh to assist. If your linkshell targest specific HNMs, choose an avatar that the particular HNM you focus on is weak to.

If all else fails, merit up Titan's Tier II because of the utility of the added Stun effect that can work against mobs that are strong to Thunder but not necessarily strong to Stun.

And I know for a fact I've typed out something like this half a dozen times since the April patch.
