Royal Ramble vs ODSFollow

So looking through the BCNMs and KSNMs to make money for my new gobbie bag quest, I was looking hard at ODS. Then, I found royal ramble. The first drop mentioned on royal ramble, is 100% Orichalcum ingot. That got me to thinking, 1/3 to 1/4 chance of making money on ODS, or 100% chance of making money on royal ramble. (if I sold the ingot)

I see an ls mate of my shouting for ODS at 4, I send him a tell telling him about royal ramble. He invites me, and we easily beat royal ramble. 6 Orichalcum ingots later, only 2 of which went on AH, the party was wondering why everyone is all ODS ONRY instead of doing this to make some money.

That is my question. If this has a guaranteed 250-300k attached to it, why would you even think about a possible 500k vs a guaranteed 250-300k. Sure the reward is smaller, but its guaranteed. Meaning no more seeing the person right before you get a serket ring, and you get a philosopher stone. Everyone gets good stuff.

O.Ingots used to be junk drops. You were lucky to get 20K for one.

Salvage has changed that on the AH, but ODS is tried and true. It can be straight-tanked, manaburned, and TP-burned.

If you have a group that can Royal Ramble with you, stick with it.

Has anyone had experience kiting the Queen of Cups as Smn? and how? Sorry to thread jack here but seeing as Smn is my only 75 and monk is on the up and up... need so smn gil making ideas.

They seem to agro the closest person too. I've often gotten hate on the WHM Queen(I'm usually tasked with kiting it) just by standing near it when it spawns. I'm not the one who picks our target(pld does) so it isn't a case of linking. But any non-magical offensive action works too.
